Whats wrong with doing that? I didnt like that they were not playing, but shouldnt that be a team decision?

I hate but.

But I can't imagine he's going to punish them for it.

Stern needs to do this. You force teams in the future to cover the revenue loss due to them doing this. Everyone knows Pop is calculated. He was pissed at the NBA scheduling for his team this month so to stick it to them he decided to leave his stars at home while the NBA showcased the game on TNT.

He has every right to start whoever he wants. This isn't something new and its not something that happens often.

I highly doubt there is a coach in the NBA concerned about another teams bottom line, that's just absurd.

Pops has every right. He doesn't owe the Miami home crowd anything. He owes his own fans...if periodically resting starters gives San Antonio the best chance for a title, it's Pop's duty to do this.

Stern is out of line.

That's fine to do it. Not arguing against it. But to compensate for the revenue losses, the NBA is going to do what they are doing as well. I have no problem with what Pop did. He should've done it the day before when the game wasn't on TNT and nothing would've been said. He wanted to stick it to the NBA, and the NBA responded.

How much revenue loss do you think Miami really had? You think there were fans who came out to see Duncan, Parker, and Manu when they see LeBron, Wade, and Bosh 81 times a year?

And it's not like Miami fills up their arena to being with.

TV ratings is the bigger issue.

If u pay for premium full price seats then you want to see the best product on the court/field..The ticket price is based on the stars..They did not get that!

Thats why they dont charge full price for pre-season games!

They market the stars.. they are on the front cover of the program ...at full ticket price thats who you expect to see! THATS WHO YOU PAID TO SEE!

If you went to a play and Tom Hanks was the actor and thus your high ticket price was based on the star power of Tom Hanks...he was on the cover of the program. And then they march out some unknown ETSU School actor. Because Hanks wanted to rest up for the next 5 shows.

Would u be mad? Want a refund?

Id like to see them, but its their team to do whatever they wanted. When Lebron played for the Cavs my buddies got tickets to see them play the Hawks a month in advance, well they went to the game and the Cavs had already clinched the #1 seed so none of the starters dressed, nobody was fined for that. Why is that acceptable and this isnt?

And didnt you have some kind proof of great news on the coaching search? What happened??

If the worst thing you are subjected to in a day is seeing the best player in the world almost go for a triple double, you had a pretty good day.

If they wanted to see Lebron, they couldve gotten the dollar tickets to the wizards game. To argue that they still saw a great player is weak. The players and coaches owe it to the league. Like Jalen Rose said, players don't respect the game and its fans like Michael did anymore.

True, michael didn't walk away from the game in the game in the middle of his prime.
