UT has to have good punting because calling a draw play on 3rd and 10 doesn't always work.

IMO I would say we are the best at recruiting considering the instate talent and the effort it takes to get players here from all over the country. It's not like we're in L.A., Fla or in a big city so CPF and crew do an incredible job. Tough to argue with the list but a little confused how we have the best punters but are better than most at punting.

Better than most at QB? Outside of Peyton, we've had average/system QB's. I think we are als below average on play calling, coaching, and football emotion... not "a little above".

Florida can just bathe theirselves in all the in-state talent. We on the other hand, have to look else-where. I think we are more impressive than Florida in recruiting.

Just saying TENN was 10 in the nation at 3rd down conversions with 48.3%. I thought Coach Cut had some good calls during the course of the season

We have the Run/Run/Bubble Screen...

My point in the previous post is that you said Manning was a good QB, but all the other QB's were "system QBs". What exactly was different about the system Peyton Manning played in vs. Andy Kelly and Heath Shuler?

I agree completely with that however, It doesn't much matter where you recruit if you can pull number 1 classes and win NC's...

According to the official stats from ncaasports.com, UT had 162 third downs this year, and they converted on 78 of those third downs. That is good enough for 48.2% and 9th in the nation.

Yea, our third down play calling is awful. That percentage should be up around 80%.

does it say how many of those third downs were converted against UF, Arkansas, LSU and Penn State? There was one in particular against UF that UT didn't convert and it pretty much cost UT the game.

yeah, but at the same time, Florida has 3 big-time programs all battling in the same pond. The Vols have to contend with.....Vanderbilt :ermm:
