Stephens?

Well, it won;t be a good second game for Crompton. What's the difference, Crompton got to warmup against a cupcake and we see how that worked out. Baptism by fire man. It can't get worse than Crompton's performance today. I watched Steophens last year, and he was better overall IMO. I thought Crompton had raised his game, but he is still the headcase. At leats Stephens has some fire.

I agree Fear... it might not be pretty but I think the only chance we have is to get Stephens some time at qb so that if Bray doesn't turn out to be the Peyton Manning like a lot of people think as a freshman.... we have someone with experience..... I believe we all just need to settle down and let this staff get a year or 2 under its belt... thats just me personally

Yea Stephens showed some promise last year at times, other times he did not, Crompton only shows promise against high school teams.

I'm not a big Stephens fan but we really won't have many options next year and generally speaking a true freshman qb won't be too impressive in the SEC.

At this point, there is no reason for Crompton to start. None at all. I would be surprised if CLK names him the starter for the UF game after watching the tape. There is nothing positive to take away from his performance besides maybe his little pep rally on the sidelines.

Is that you Phil?

Here is the thing. This guy brings up a good point. Kiffin was stubborn about Crompton. He should have pulled him at half time. It cost us the game. I know he does not want to play the switch QB game, but you have to do something. Case in point, Tennessee almost had two solid drives with runs only. Crompton made one play. Even at that they almost took the lead. If he does not have confidence, in Crompton at the goal line to make a play after his mistakes he should have been pulled.

I too like Stephens' competitive fire that he has showed on the field, at times.

CLK has only seen Crompton and Stephens compared in practice, not in game situations.

I'd give Stephens more reps this week and tell him, "get ready."

I'd give Crompton another chance to start next week, but yank him if he gives us no production. If that hurts his confidence more, I'm sorry.

Kiff is not stubborn. You don't change in the middle of a game. Adds boat loads of pressure to Stevens and kills Crompton for the year. Now, if he starts Stevens next week then that's different. I don't know how you honestly think switching will help since Steven's last year didn't do too hot himself. Not saying he wouldn't have done better (hard to do worse), but it's chaotic to switch in a game. I know it brought us so much success last year...

Not trying to be debby downer but I hope he lets Stephens start or at least get some plays in.....You cannot place all hopes on Bray next year....

I am more hopeful in Bray than I am any qb on our current roster

all i have to say is that going into this game... living in florida i looked at my Florida Gator buddy and said Crompton has 3 ints at least... not trying to be negative but why wouldn't we give another qb a try after 3??????? burn me all you want but seriously....3.... why wouldn't it hurt for nick to give it a go?

you have Gator Buddy??? SHAME ON YOU!!!

It doesn't matter who starts at QB next week, it is going to be a nightmare for them with the O-Line play we got tonight.

The next game won't be a good game to start Stephens. If clk is gonna pull Crompton then he doesn't need to go back to him if Stephens doesn't perform well. JMO

At this point I don't really care who starts.I have little to no faith in any of them really at the moment. If you pull Crompton and Stephens does really bad, where does that leave Cromptons mental state?I don't know if Crompton can be fixed to salvage a decent remainder of season.I was encouraged to see him on the sidelines get up and try to get the team pumped up,but before that he was just sitting all alone and not talking to nobody(pouting). So,how in the hell do you pick this kid up for next week?

If clk pulls Crompton then Stephens will probably be the starter for the rest of the year.

The thing I'm looking at is that our D is good enough to where we'll win our games if we don't turn the ball over. Stephens wouldn't have thrown 3 picks. Also Gerald Jones shouldn't have been on the field as much as he was. He wasn't really healthy and the freshmen haven't played bad so let them play until he's healthy at the least.

I think if Stephens were our QB we would have won easy. Some players just don't practice well. Kiffin needs to come off his high horse and play him.

Putting in Stephens is the nuclear option. Once it happens, it can't be taken back. You would then have a SR Captain bench-warming and then a whole lot of taking sides....

I refuse to believe that Stephens could be any WORSE at reading a defense or locking onto his receiver than Crompton is. Crompton is slowly sucking the life out of this damn program. I dont know what else he can do to prove he is NOT mentally a D1 QB. Not even close. Even in the WKU game, he was late finding WIDE OPEN receivers....everyone sitting around us would yell for 2-3 seconds to throw the damn to the WIDE OPEN guy. The only thing that saved him there was how slow to react a D like WKU has is. If CLK keeps the dude in there, we will not even reach our win total of last year. I so wanted JC to succeed this year and prove me and all the doubters wrong, but this kid just is not a big time football QB. Yesterdays game made me more sick than ANY of the games last year, including Wyoming. The way our D played, UCLA had NO BUSINESS being in that game after the 1st quarter. If nothing else, our team proves how important the QB position is. We are at or above average everywhere else, yet this one player can bring it all down. I know he had some drops from the WR, but that is still no excuse for those pathetic INTs. I am sick of this crap.

+1 Three interceptions on 3 straight drives is in-excusable. Just not good quarterbacking.

I agree with that. Plus how would Crompton handle being benched and then put back in? Probably not well
