I think if Stephens were our QB we would have won easy. Some players just don't practice well. Kiffin needs to come off his high horse and play him.

Clearly we should have hired you instead of Lane.

Agree, I think Stephens should have come in the 2nd series of the 2nd half after Crompton's 3 int. Kiffin didn't pull him and I think it was a mistake.

Go Vols

Stephens has fire and seems willing to lead. Crompton is a flake and a pouter. In this case, F practice.

first off...back up quarterback's always most popular

second, you realize if he's behind crompton on the depth chart, he must be about the same at best. Problem is, this team sucks talent/player wise at the most important position on a football team for success

The bottom line is that we don't have a good quarterback. It is not worth debating who should play and who should sit.

I think we need to bring him in by the Ohio or Auburn game to get him some more game experience

I don't disagree with this if the expected happens next week (Crompton plays poorly again).

It's naive to think Stephens though that playing Stephens=more wins. It won't and maybe an extra loss.

Stephens...win...shouldn't be said together.

Yep. Crompton and win just roll off the tongue however.

Just kidding.

Seriously though, what we have is analogous to being asked if you would rather be kicked in the right nut or the left nut.

Yeah you grade him on one game the Wyoming game right? Just watch the Georgia game from last year. He needs to be our QB.

We scored a whopping 14 points against a bad UGA defense.

And yes, the Wyoming game matters. All of Wyoming's points were a direct result of his bad decision-making. I understand that Crompton isn't good, but we don't have anyone better.

I don't think he will guarantee more wins but Crompton won't be around for another year so why not prepare our starter for next year.

all i have to say is that going into this game... living in florida i looked at my Florida Gator buddy and said Crompton has 3 ints at least... not trying to be negative but why wouldn't we give another qb a try after 3??????? burn me all you want but seriously....3.... why wouldn't it hurt for nick to give it a go?

The OP is right. Stephens and Lamaison are our future next season. Why not play one of them and prepare for next season. Crompton has showed that not only will he fail to win games....he will succeed in losing them like last year. Guys, Crompton isn't going to get any better and he's going to be gone next year. The smartest move is developing the guys that will play next year. One thing is for sure, Crompton against the Gators = several gauranteed turnovers and big loss. Maybe Stephens does as well, but like it or not, he is our future. Personally, I think he is more of a gamer than Crompton and can throw a better deep ball.

At this point, there is no reason for Crompton to start. None at all. I would be surprised if CLK names him the starter for the UF game after watching the tape. There is nothing positive to take away from his performance besides maybe his little pep rally on the sidelines.
