Stephens starting versus UGA!?!?

Even I gave Fulmer more credit than that...him appointing JC as starter would have had a mob with pitchforks outside of his home.

i liked this part

The defense, ranked fifth in the nation, helped bail the Vols out.

Are you surprised?

To a degree, it shows that Fulmer is getting a little serious and hopefully will stop messing around now. However in Fulmer fashion I'm sure if the GA game is tight they'll handcuff him with conservative play calling and give the game away... that's assuming we don't get blowed out. GA definitely has something to prove and I'm sure they'll take it out on Nick. The O-Line better step up or he'll be running for his life on Saturday.

i don't understand why the surprise. it would make absolutely no sense NOT to start stephens at this point. it's not like he was going to go back to crompton

I don't think Travis Stephens would make that much of a difference anyway.

If you thought Fulmer was going to go back to Crompton after Stephens showed us last week he's the better option, then you must be crazy.

Are you surprised Stephens is starting because you don't think he's good enough, or because Fulmer actually made a correct decision this season?

The real question is..........
How long will JC wear the helmet on the sideline?

He's just being a devoted player... I appreciate the fact that he's sitting there, ready to go at any moment. He loves this football team and he doesn't deserve people mocking him because he wants with all his heart to play.

Fair enough. At least my attempt at humor didn't include a Krispy Kreme reference.:hi:

Very true...though he could take it off just because its not that hard to put it back on at a moment's notice...:)

I just think crompton been through a lot. And I think it kills him more than anyone knows that he couldn't lead this team and win. Same can go for Fulmer. They both need(ed) to be replaced. But personal attacks are a bit ridiculous.

Just my view

I agree with that. When all is said and done, Crompton is still a kid. Sure his attitude comes off as "cocky," but do you think it may be more defensive? I mean he does have the majority of the fan base against him. He is out of the game, which I think was the correct decision, now I think people should leave him be.

I would feel better if Crompton were up walking the sidelines. Wouldn't vol fans like to see him giving Stephens a chest bump after a TD?

I know he is just a kid, but be part of the team. Time to stop thinking of yourself.

Yeah we have faced some real explosive offenses! The first real test is Saturday and please don't use Fla as an example!

btw.....is it to early to put Crompton on the side of a milk carton?
