Stephens reps with 1st string will be cut

I still think when it's all said and done Bray will be the starter. jmo

Sorry dude I don't buy it. Coach is giving Bray an opportunity to work with the 1st team to see how he responds. Simms will be the guy, mark it down. Bray will redshirt and then compete next year with Simms and the kid from Georgia. I would expect both freshmen QB's to redshirt unless it get's really bad. Simms comes from good bloodlines and I would expect him to be the man once he get's a handle on the offense. He should be very accurate and I've heard he has a really strong arm.

i would quess Milton, Fugate, Jacques, and Miller will redshirt.

i don't think meline will cuz he may be one of our main kick returners.

we are loaded at DE and WR. i see no need to waste any of our EEs eligibility this year jmo.

I dont think we are loaded at WR at all. we have two pretty good vets and the rest havent played a lick.

we are definitely LOADED at DE

both 1st stringers left something to be desired in the first scrimmage...

dooley is probably mixing it up to see if simms or bray has a little better dynamic. it's still a long way til the first game and two a days will be the deciding factor IMO.

Simms as a 2 year starter is ideal, and then Bray takes over as a Jr. Stephens has been inclined to ride the pine, and I think that will continue.

CDD said that he wants to see what QB the players rally behind the most. That will be important in deciding a starter. CDD wants to see how 1st team responds to each QB.

wait, you guys must have it all wrong........bray's not supposed to actually play for another 2 years or so..........

with his thin frame, lack of knowledge of the system we will run, and a brand new o line if he plays next season it will be another eric ainge freshman year situation.

that is what it is, unless, both he and the o line get better by leaps and bounds between now and the start of next season.

I disagree with Miller and Smith redshirting. I think both will see significant playing time.

I don't think both will redshirt either...we will only be returning one DE with playing time for '11 if they both redshirt...it will be essential that they get some reps...

on TOS they write how Chaney was working on ways to expand Milton's role by having him work in 3 point stance to take advantage of match ups on LBs...

doesnt sound like they want to redshirt him

if he is an adequate blocker and added about 20 lbs without losing speed he would be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses

If Bray doesnt start day 1 then redshirt him. No reason for him to waist a yr of eligibility by him coming in mid year on a bad team

I think that would be the smart move. Redshirt Bray, start Simms, with Stephens as the back-up.

No one knows what Bray was promised to get him to sign though, I would guess he was told he would be competing for the starting job.

They are 3rd teamers at best right now. I don't see why you waste a year. Miller may even be the 4th team DE. Walker, Martin, Williams, and Bohannon are a very strong group. I think Fowlkes and Jacques are running with the 3s.

LV, are they lookin at Meline for punt and kickoff return?? hes pretty tall for the prototypical punt returner.

I'm not really sure how the returners are looking. I know he has been doing some work at both.

Jones, Moore, Teague, and DaRick should all be very, very solid. Zach Rogers will get some pt too.

Bray reminds me of Brian Zoubek. He was so rail thin as a freshman he could not contribute much but after he bulked up he was a force. I think most SEC teams now days need a Tebow type QB that am bench 400 plus.

I thought the QB struggles might be because of O-Line problems...Does this mean the struggles are more on the QBs themselves and that our 1st string O-Line is okay?

I would be extremely surprised if bray starts. i just think its really stephens job to lose right now. DD is trying to scare him a little bit.Get him playing better. Now that being said i would love starting bray from day one if stephens does lose the job. And on the miller and jaq smith thing. I was hearing around knoxville that smith is the more versatile of the 2 and athletic enough to play 2 positions lb and de.

Eric Ainges freshman year was very solid and the team had a great season. It was his sophomore year that he regressed.

im talking about when he got knocked out for the rest of the year against notre dame. bray wont even come close to ainge's numbers as a frosh... mark it down.
