I have not really been a fan of Nick Stevens, and have heard great things about Simms. I am also glad to see Bray getting a shot. Looks like he is having a good showing this spring.

Yeah I got it on twitter too, I expect Simms to be the starter.

off subject but how is matt milton doing which ee's will most likely redshirt

i would quess Milton, Fugate, Jacques, and Miller will redshirt.

i don't think meline will cuz he may be one of our main kick returners.

we are loaded at DE and WR. i see no need to waste any of our EEs eligibility this year jmo.

Yeah this is all over twitter, at least DD is "checking the film"

Yeah and when exactly was the last time we havent heard about players and coaches on this team "checking the film"? Thats always the answer after every interview.

I disagree with Miller and Smith redshirting. I think both will see significant playing time.

Stephens losing some 1st team reps is either really, really good. Or it's really, really bad.

LV, are they lookin at Meline for punt and kickoff return?? hes pretty tall for the prototypical punt returner.

And IMO I'd throw Bray into the wolves this year, let him take his lumps and have some experience in 2011.

Have yet to see the OL play a snap but this could be a year were we need backups. Not sure I'd throw Bray into thar mess early, maybe late if Simms and NS struggle.

If Bray doesnt start day 1 then redshirt him. No reason for him to waist a yr of eligibility by him coming in mid year on a bad team

wait, you guys must have it all wrong........bray's not supposed to actually play for another 2 years or so..........

I agree with that idea but sitting on 3 question marks might be better than sitting on 2. Especially when the first has been as bad as he has.

Wow this is surprising news. I'm taking it as in Stephens isn't playing that well and the coaches think it's best that the other two get more of a shot or they are doing this in order to push Nick and make him realize this is his Senior yr if he wants to play he better get his butt in gear. However, I'm guessing it's the first situation I mentioned simply b/c Dooley made the decision after watching film and saw first hand who was playing the best ball.

Gotta disagree with you there Vader... I doubt Miller redshirts as he already has the build of someone who has been in a college weightlifting program for a couple years. Our depth at DE isn't that great outside of Martin, Walker, and Williams so I expect him to be in the rotation. Also I'd be willing to bet Meline would redshirt before Milton, as Milton is a redzone target we simply don't have right now. Of course it really also depends on how Rogers and Hunter perform in fall practice.

I don't think you realize how good Rogers is going to be. He is being compared to Calvin Johnson. He may be our number 1 WR by mid season, and 6'3 is a good red zone target last time I checked. Plus, our depth at DE is th best we have at any other position, you forgot about Bohanan. That is 4 experience DE's. Plus it is sooo difficult for incoming freshman to play well on the d-line, it just doesnt happen
