He only shoots 28% from 3 pt range. So that means he should go 15 for 15 against us. lol

No I am a little concerned about that matchup as well. But if Maymon dares him to shoot(GR3's percentage holds up) and UT gets good help defense they should be fine.

good deal. give him space to take that shot then. I assume he crashes the board hard

ugh. I don't like Maymon having to guard anybody out past 15 feet or so. His legs have gotten stronger and his feet are better from getting in the flow, but guys seem to hit outside shots on him because he gives them a little space so they don't go by.
Honestly, I don't know GR3's game. If he can back out to the 3 easily, that's a tough matchup for us

GR3 is only a 29% three point shooter. He shot just 22% in conference games.

He can hit the three, but he's been pretty inconsistent this year. I haven't been impressed with him but I think this matchup sets him up for a huge day.

IMO I think we have to make them pay on our end of the floor for that matchup. Everyone wants to discuss how bad a matchup it is for Maymon to try and guard him, let's see GR3 keep Maymon off the boards.

I think Coach Zo said we would go with Moore at the 4 some if needed. Leaving just Stokes or Maymon at the 5.

I don't worry so much about him having to guard a guy at 15+ feet that is going to shoot jump shots. I worry about him guarding a guy 15+ feet out that can put the ball on the floor.

If jeronne just backs off a few steps, then it becomes harder for GR3 to drive on him. Of course it leaves GR3 room for a jumper which we would have to hope he doesn't hit consistently.

Has Stauskas had to play against anyone as good as Richardson on defense?

Yes, Gary Harris , Big Ten tournament championship game. He was slowed down for a time with small guards playing up under him. That went on for a few games and he adjusted.

I would think the length of Richardson over Harris would further bother Stauskas.

I was under Pratt today as Josh was getting on the bus and screamed "Teach him a lesson, Josh!" He turned around and pointed at me with a smile. Josh is going to shut him down.

Stauskas will hit a few threes, but Josh can defend him as well as anybody. He has taken on the toughest defensive assignments all year.
