I find it hilarious how some on here think they know talent evaluation better than our coaches or even the recruiting sites. Especially evaluating the players on defense after 1 game facing a triple option offense. Good thing none of you all were coaches after Barnett's start to last year or he would have sitting the bench instead of breaking records.

I don't believe that Wiggins is injured. No evidence just a feeling.

I believe it was reported as a hip during August. It held him back in participating but it sounds like the coaches still expect him to contribute when able.

I'm not sure what else it would be. I would think someone with his history would have a pretty short leash on any kind of discipline issues.

I tend to agree that there is a lot of overreacting right now... but this is a chat board. Most of us do try to put ourselves in the coaches' shoes... probably including you.

That said, there are a few who DO really believe they know more about talent than anyone else here or the coaches. Get to know Dobbs4Heisman or k-town king for example.

Had a decent game, its hatd for DL against teams like GT who cut block. One thing i saw is the defensive scheme was very odd. For instance they were crashing hard on the side opposite of the direction the play went. Then GT stayed the delayed cut back plays. Also in the secondary aganst a run first team the cb were 8 yds off the ball. This is what Larry Slade used to call bail out ball. The Db group as a whole took bad angles, got blocked all night, and looked shaky. I was a Shoop fan but I'm really not feeling it right now. Football is not rocket science, hell Saban takes Foster who I've met and know isn't Einstein but lets him seek and destroy. We had Gavin Bryant and said he wasn't smart enough, but played slow Jumper who misses play after play. Jus my .02

Man, if Jumper misses play after play and gets 18 tackles, I can't imagine what he could do if he didn't miss.

I saw Phillips on the sideline. In full gear. He's just unfortunately not proven to be a baller so far. It's crazy these recruiting rankings are totally based on talent, not how competitive they are. For example, Josh Malone was a way higher ranked recruit that Calloway. Yet, in his first real action Calloway was more agressive and competitive than I ever remember Malone being. He almost did nothing until his junior year. And even then he only had a few really memorable plays.
I was so excited about Phillips based on his "talent", but he's done next to nothing. There was even talk of him leaving after his freshman year...not exactly the hallmark of a competitor and a champion

Agree.....you cannot coach desire...or toughness/aggressiveness...

Malone is soft....played soft all the way through his time here.....and I'm being polite....

He had great speed....but I don't expect him to do anything of any renown in the NFL because those DBs will beat the sheet out of him as he tries to get off of the LOS....and he'll be sitting over in the corner crying to the officials.....

I don't know as much about Phillips....haven't seen him play enough...he did get into the GT game some....

Callaway looks also better than North, Preston Williams, and maybe Hunter. Another Corderelle Pattetson who can actually run routes.

Isn't it common sense to play the corners closer against an option running team? Was there that much fear of getting burnt? I would have made them throw it alot. Playing the way Shoop did almost/ should have gotten us beat.
