One of the reasons I think UF will beat Bama is that Bama lacks the marquee QB. You need all three major skill positions to be solid as a rock. McElroy just doesn't have it. Until Bama gets their QB they'll not contend for the big dance, IMHO(and it doesn't seem like they'll have one for a while - Philip Simms kid does not impress me one bit).

Once we get the skill guys that Kiffin wants we will have stud RB (Bryce, Oku etc), stud WR, and a stud QB. Once we have players that are statistical leaders in the conference/NCAA then we have a solid indicator that we are on our way to dominance.

We'll have the defense for sure as long as Monte and gang are still around.

Actually the most important stat is Wins versus Losses, but I think you get my drift.

Kiffin's offense at USC was the first to have two RBs with greater than 1000 yards, a WR with 1000 yards (actually almost two WR), and a QB with greater than 3000 yards - first ever in the NCAA. Kiffin always talked about high standards...welcome to the future of Tennessee Football!

You think the amount of yards you just mentioned can be achieved against the SEC defenses? I do know we have had two 1000 yard rushers in riggs jr. and houston I think. So maybe. It would be an awesome feat in the sec and imagine the point totals:)

We had two 1000 yard rushers, and so did Auburn (same year I might add)

Eddie Gran was the coach I do believe.

It can be done in the SEC. No doubt in my mind. If it's going to be done it will be done with our staff and our team

You forgot the most important... and blatantly missing piece of that equation... a two deep OL full of future NFL players.

Judging from the OP we aren't going to win the SECCG either unless we can find an elite level QB. and we don't have anyone on that level.....yet.

CLK definitely loves the offense and I sure don't mind. As long as CMK defense keeps putting the ball back in CLK offense's hands then this is going to be a fun ride:dance2:

That certainly doesn't hurt. We picked up one piece of the equation this week. I think we are doing pretty good to have 3 guys starting on the OL that hadn't started before. Seems like they have really coached them up.

The really great thing about Monte is that he isn't doing anything novel or gimmicky. The only "tricky" thing he does is disguise his D's... which everyone tries to do... he just does it better.

His greatest asset is somethng that SEC OC's aren't going to "solve". He is simply a master at gameplanning and playcalling. He reads and anticipates opposing playcallers better than anyone I've ever seen. He manipulates them into unfavorable situations. He prevents them from using their best assets and exposes their weaknesses while maximizing the impact of his best players and covers for weaknesses.

He is really fun to watch.

Doesn't matter how good your skill players are if your OL isn't great.

I think the coaches have absolutely optimized the performance of this year's OL... That said, the OL still limits what they can do and how dominant they can be. There are times when they can't run. Memphis was able to stop them by loading the box... of course they gave up a million passing yards. However the great USC O's could run any time they wanted to.

I can't wait for this!!! Man that is amazing!!! With a dominant defense we will be unstoppable!!! I'm so glad you gave this info. We all watched it at USC, but seeing it typed and knowing he is our coach just has me PUMPED!!:pepper::popcorn::superman::worship:

This coaching staff can get players up and going pretty fast. I DO NOT worry about where we are in the National Ranking of recruiting. I know these coaches can get the players to play at their peak level and that goes a long ways. The difference in the coaches landing a 5* and a 2* is the amount of time it takes to teach the ones that want to be taught. It is one thing to land a top recruit, but if you don't know how to bring out the best in them they are worthless. I have confidence this staff knows how to bring out the best in anybody regardless of what some source rates them.
