Encouraging sign for our program moving forward. TN talent level has improved lots in the past few years.

If CBJ successfully builds a wall (which I think he will) and continues to pluck top talent out of FL and GA, we will be top ten in recruiting year after year. VOLS BUTCH!

I was kinda suprised GA was at #2. I know they're usually in the top 5 or so when talking about producing talent but I didn't think they'd be that high. 1 signee for every 178 players is pretty damn good.

Utah is #3.... Utah???? One state I would have never associated with that high of FBS talent.

no one surprised Texas is 16th...i would have thought it would be fl, Cali, then Texas....

EDIT.... sorry, i finally read it....based on population...DUH

Salt Lake is loaded with players and the high school teams are very good. Lots of Polynesians with players like Ngata being from there.

Interesting breakdown on number of FBS signees per football players in each state.

Tennessee had 40 signees out of 22,994 players for a ratio of 1 signee for every 575 players.

Here are the SEC states in the top 20 fwiw
1 Florida
2 Georgia
5 Louisiana
6 Alabama
16 Texas
18 Tennessee

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Where the FBS signees come from

No sarcasm intended , but this fact has been known for years. # 1, 2, and 3 are among the most populated states , surprised cali isn't listed. Tennessee is ranked 17th in population. Thanx for the info. :good!:

Ignore Florida.

Build a wall around TN.

Then cover Atlanta and Charlotte.

I agree about Charlotte, but no way do you ignore florida. We have pulled alot of good players from there.

You can't spread yourself too thin. Dominate Atlanta, TN, and Charllote.

Only spot recruit everywhere else.

There's more than enoug talent in those areas, to win without FL.

why stop there? lets start by kicking Pig Howard, Curt Maggit, Marcus Jackson, Jordan Williams, Daniel Gray, Trav. Saulsberry, Mo Couch, Kenny Bynum, Tom Smith, Mike Palardy & Nathan Peterman off the team.

then Lets stop recruiting Dillon Bates too.

Lets Stop recruiting Florida!!!!!!!

Kinda Understand the Fla sentiment but I think theres way too much potential talent there to ignore it

Enough resources to do all this. Too many fla players to ignore

Its pretty notable that Tennessee had more D-1 signees than Mississippi, S.Carolina, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Missouri. Its pretty awesome that Tennessee's talent is on the rise in a big way. Three 5-star recruits in state this year.

Virginia has been pretty good to us in the past in recruiting as well as California. The way the state of TN is rising in HSFB talent , Butch's fence will pay enormous dividends!

In the legacy dept ., don't forget Bailey Lenoir at East Hamilton in Chatt. He's Patrick's son & Butch has already been there to talk to him.

So has North GA's. when I was in school there would be maybe one a year go D1. Now Gainesvilles got the #1 rated QB in Watson. We got Aj. USC got Conner Shaw. Etc. this whole region had grown as far as football talent goes

Edit. And I'm saying this because east TN and north GA are very similar

Just sign 10 of the top 20 each and every year from TN. Then add at least 10 a year each from GA, FL, Carolina's and Ohio. Get the rest from elsewhere.
