Statement from Butch Jones

<blue font> Luv this impartial position. If CBJ remains silent or has an attorney isue a statement for him, he is hiding something. If he goes on the record in public, "what else is he supposed to say?" basically calling him a liar. Way to be impartial and open minded ...NOT!!!!

Sorry for stating the obvious, name the last person to stay silent when their character was assassinated? He is a public figure representing our university!! you better deny! I would like to know when Bowles first statements were uttered because if Im, him Im saying anything to cause less problems. Lets get our head out of the sand on this one guys.. Perception is reality, we are now perceived as a dirty university thanks to bias media...

Im thinking worst case scenario..Butch had some wrong information here before he spoke to Bowles, but something was said to Bowles... I dont think it was as egregious as you betrayed the team...Im thinking he had some wrong info on what Bowles did

Man this whole thing is a bunch of ****ing bull****. how can ESPN not see its a money ploy? no one. not one person has ever been convicted of any crime. NOT ONE!

Because ESPN wants you to click their articles. They are a money ploy themselves.

Coach speak isn't going to save Butch this time. Hope he's telling the truth.

I'm with you. When I hear these kind of statements, my first thought is of Nixon and Clinton.

My second thought is that when the mob gets going, the truth goes out the window.

My fear is that we are going to lose Coach Jones, regardless of the facts. Even if Coach is 100% completely in the right, the mob may have it's way.

You watch too many Oliver Stone movies. :)

There is no mob, only the lawyers leaking stories to the press. Stay the course and and refuse to have a knee jerk reaction. We will be fine. CBJ will be our coach going forward. I hope all of the plaintiffs are charged with perjury.

Did you read what Butch Jones even said? He said that Drae Bowles OWN WORDS will vindicate him. He was referring to Drae Bowles grand jury testimony (under oath) where he stated that he was not aware of a sexual assault and made no mention of these 'traitor' comments.

Either Drae Bowles was lying under oath then or he is lying under oath now. His testimony would never fly on this matter in court.

Since grand jury testimony is, by definition, secret, how do you know what Bowles said under oath? How does Butch know what Bowles said under oath? Are you just saying this out of blind hope and loyalty, or do you know this to be true? If the latter, please cite your source.

The only thing worse than coach speak is lawyer speak, which is what I think this statement is, but I hope it's true either way. #IBackButch

Oh, I get it. Some if the most damning "under oath" statements ever leavied against a coach, a coach who has had previous questionable behavior "rumors," in a Federal lawsuit, and it's no big deal, nothing to see here? I appreciate that some of you want to circle the wagons, but you better start seeing this as the rest of world outside of Vol Nation sees it; very badly!

here it is... "guilty until proven innocent" so everyone outside volnation has judged Butch and hes guilty? just because someone said something about him? what if i said you are a homosexual, would that make it true? (no offense to homosexuals)

This is a Federal lawsuit, with MULTIPLE victims, not some backwoods local lawsuit in Smalltown, Tn. And it involves sexual assault against women, and in the day and age of Ray Rice, Bill Cosby, Adrian Peterson, Ray McDonald, Jamies Winston and others, America doesn't have the stomach for this. Expect the liberal media and rival fans to fan the flames, womens groups will get involved and this thing will become a nightmare, it already is! So some of y'all can keep floating down that river of denial all you want, at your own peril.

So according to you Tennessee should clean house starting with Butch and leave it at that, they're guilty no matter what..

And if that happens and folks are falsely fired, the lawsuits that will come after than will make this one look like change. And a year from now there may be no UT period.

We know all of this. Anyone paying attention understands the ridiculous political climate we live in right now. Tennessee is one of 95-100 universities being federally investigated right now. But that doesn't mean you lie down and roll over and let innocent people have their reputations, careers, even lives ruined because of mere allegations.....some of which are very suspicious.

Everyone being accused deserves to have the facts come out and be vindicated if they're innocent, not be thrown to wolves because of an agenda-driven media unfairly shaping the narrative. This is still (barely) America.....Innocent until PROVEN guilty hoss.

There is not one victim. They are accusers. Some cases have been thrown out because of absolutely no evidence. And not by the school but by the police. Some of the accusers declined to press charges at all, instead going for money. How can anyone not see that this is nothing more than a money grab. They will fold if UT fights this.
