He was hired on Dec, 7th so in fact, a lot of the players that signed in his first recruiting class was recruited by the Jones family of coaches. I count that class as a push. His first actual class that he recruited all of them would be the second class he signed.

Looking back at the 2018 commit list it looks like 5 players that had committed to Jones signed with the Vols. One of which never played because on injury. Looking at the current roster there is 20 other players on scholarship that signed with Jones.

HB looked good Saturday. Neither interceptions were bad throws on his part. Don’t know what you were watching regarding Bailey. Maurer is a little questionable Saturday but he may turn out to be better than JG also. JG needs to sit and be relief. HB needs to start. Then we will know for sure after a game or two if HB can be the Qb we had hoped for.
Interesting that so many make excuses for Baiey already. I'm not dissing him, but thinking he is the almighty answer is very premature.

Pruitt doesn't want to be at Tennessee. That is 100% fact.

Sure looks like he's trying to get fired. Easy solution is to negotiate a buyout, but I'm sure Sexton has told him to wait it out. Probably knows we'll free up some cash when butch is off the payroll....finally. It's the UT way.

Pruitt will not be fired. Period.

1. This program is going through extreme financial hardship. You have your head buried in the sand if you can’t put that together. The program itself is forced to have reduced ticket sales, concessions, etc after stadium renovations and paying off a few Ex coaches.

Timing sucks

2. The AD sure as heck ain’t gonna dismiss a coach 3 years in. Year 1, he inherited Butch Jones Team. Year 2, he sprinkled in some freshman. Year 3, he has a sophomore and freshman base.

Now...tell me about all the great teams that Fulmer outfit with freshman and sophomore. I’m waiting.

3. Pruitt is a players coach. The guy coaches football. He sells the steak, not the sizzle. The guy stands with his players in their community stances. As long as Pruitt is building a team and a culture, he won’t be on a short leash.

You can be pissed about a lot of things. I’m personally confused by timid play calling. I’m confused as to where our leaders are (I see #11 on D and #73 on O, that’s it). Now, #2 on D has been MIA and he’s been a leader as well.

You might have divide because you have MORE TALENTED youngsters who don’t have the KNOWLEDGE of upper class man.

Football requires iterating. Iterating week to week. Iterating at halftime - which we suck at right now.

Pruitt will be back. I think Jim Chaney will be back. I think Chris Weinke is at right. The state of our backup QB is truly puzzling.

The future is Bailey. Time to release the Hound.

Posting a new thread drooling over every other coach is rather pathetic. Confirms my theory that not everyone should have internet access.

I wish I could like this more than once. Everying you said was truth. And you can bank on Bailey starting on Saturday. His knowlege of the offense has improved to the point that he has a chance out there. HB's flaw of inexperience has become less than JG's flaw of lack of recognition and poor decision making.

He just signed an extension to 2026 and will probably have a better record next season. That will buy him another year. Depending upon that second year will decide his fate.
Look at the full schedule and please state who he will beat to have the "better season" you speak of

So Haslam will save the day?
Or Haslam is the reason we are in the mess?

I for one would like to quit suckling the corporate teet, because I’ll be honest, it isn’t really there. Not like you think it is.

further more, it isn’t his job to find ways to cough up millions upon millions of dollars every 3 years for this program.

Do you think he became a billionaire by investing in things without giving it time to grow into its own?

You are grossly unaware of the way the world works.
Have you actually been anywhere not considered a tourist destination? or is apparent age and stupidity equal wisdom and gross awareness in your reality? You know nothing about me, nor what you run your mouth about. Just because I said jimmy could flick a 12 million dollar booger and not realize it’s gone doesn’t mean he will or I want him too. I’m just saying the boosters absolutely could. Learn to comprehend what’s being said.

It was his decision to stick with bama through the playoff instead of understanding the dumpster fire he was walking into... While I respect the decision he made he truly made a terrible decision doing so. He couldn’t adequately recruit as well as gameplan, coach, and overall perform his duties adequately at both areas. He sacrificed more than a month to help bama win a ring. Again I understand but I’m not giving him a pass on it that easily.

He also was a driving force for Butch and we saw how that investment ended... stop speaking as if you’re some financial advisor who’s qualified to tell what a billionaire would or wouldn’t do with their money. You and I my friends are peasants. 12 million in the grand scheme of 2.9 billion dollars is equivalent to 1,200... not a lot of money champ.

I've been a fan for 50+ years. that you can't see that Pruitt is in WAY over his head and try to sound intelligent about building a program is cute. You should be thankful for the first amendment.

BTW, you haven't got the first damn clue as to whether Pruitt is a player's coach. He sells the streak? Believe me, he is on a short leash

We have several first year coaches in the SEC wit the same or better record than Pruitt, so get this crap outta here. As a third year coach he should be doing a better job.

Not stating it, just hoping. We need to see him start and play significant minutes to know if he may be the answer. I believe he will be as good as advertised but that is just a my current opinion. I thought JT might be the answer but he blew it against Kentucky.

Don’t think Pruitt leaves anytime soon. Have concerns in regards to Niedermeyer as his contract expires 1/31/2021. He’s seems to be our most consistent recruiter.

New York Times article in 2005 insinuates it.
Ah yes...that beacon of truth...The New York Times..LOL...modern day National Enquirer. Not a more "fake news-er" than the NYT for sure. I could read something in the NYT that I KNEW TO BE TRUE and would have to reconfirm it if they said it!

Sorry, Tennessee put theirselves in that position for making an absolute cluster **** out of their coaching search. Regardless of how I view him now, I do not hold that first class against Pruitt.

This is just a tragedy. I have loved UT football since 1974. Our program has been taken over by big money Haslam. Check out how he has done with the Browns. Are UT and the Browns just a tax deduction that provides profit from loss? Phil was given a contract extension after the 2007 season and asked to leave during the 2008 season. Sound familiar? We really haven’t had a good coach since Johnny Majors and will not until this Haslam dynasty has died. How much more money do we have to pay Fulmer to just go away. I am tired of making excuses for what I thought was..., hell, I don’t know. I really feel like this part of me has dyed. Rocky Top You’ll Always Be Home Sweet Home To Me”!!! “The Pride of the Southland Band” probably needs refer to the sheet music to play it now. Poor Smoky. Damn it! It feels like someone stole something from me!!

I love it when idiots get on here and blame the fans.

Since you seem to know so much then tell us what is the plan to fix this crap show? Right now there appears to be absolutely no leadership over there that is capable of righting the ship. Because next year there will be very few people watching it. Even the most loyal fans have a threshold of tolerance.

Disagree, Bailey took the check down. It’s not his fault the check down route wasn’t towards the sideline to conserve clock. I remember JG being giving the check down against Kentucky which he took for all of 3 throws and started getting greedy and threw terrible picks. Bailey also threw a dart downfield and on time that JG has yet to prove he can make. The end zone int wasn’t a big deal. Down two scores with seven seconds he tried to make something out of nothing.
I’m sorry, but when you bring in a high caliber, highly rated QB, you don’t just shove him in a corner and forget about him. To say you only have time to spend with 1 QB in practice is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard and I can’t decide if it’s an indictment on the coaches or the QB or both?
GBO!!

I haven’t seen a QB take a snap yet, that looked like they belong in the SEC, if we’re being honest. With that said, I love JG’s toughness and Maurer’s grit but Bailey has the most upside and at this point, you gotta find out exactly what you have in your prized QB recruit.
GBO!!
