He just signed an extension to 2026 and will probably have a better record next season. That will buy him another year. Depending upon that second year will decide his fate.
We were supposed to be better in year 3 than year 1... sorry man, I don’t think you understand college football is a business predicated on results. Not hope and wishes, you get that year 1 and 2 in this conference. Year 3 and on should be showing tangible results.

This year is a covid19 year so that's his good excuse. Next year will be a year where if he shows improvement it will get him to year 2. I'm telling you he will be here at least 2 to 3 more years just wait and see.

I’m not speculating. Pruitt is 3 miles away from the surface of the sun right about now. Get that boy some aloe for his ass cheeks.
I was referring to your theories on who foots the bills for various payouts regarding the athletic department...

Am I talking to Phil?

Yet Sam Pittman is in a COVID year and just spanked us. Stop using COVID as an excuse. I can understand the first month being rusty. They’ve had 6 games and who knows how many practices and scrimmages on Sundays yet zero improvement, nada, zilch... Crouch is still clueless, we still can’t cover a standard slant, and we still can’t execute a marginal passing attack. Not to mention coaching malpractice with the qbs...

No but when the guy that hired you gives you a raise and extention for doing absolutely nothing at all he probably will stick with him longer than he should
I imagine that Phil doesn’t get to solely make that decision my friend.

It's the university of Tennessee football program dude. You have your head in the sand if you don't think they could easily come up with money lol they just will choose not to

Don't get me wrong I don't believe Pruitt is getting the job done at all. But I also don't believe they will fire him in the next couple of years.

Well who's idea was it to give Pruitt an extension? Fire him first
I don’t necessarily disagree, but I would retain Phil and move him to interim head coach and get rid of Pruitt just to maintain stability through the year. Like Phil or not he actually knows how to win and coach winning football.

That’s completely ok too, I just know that he probably doesn’t get that amount of time with the performance this year. I don’t know if you listen to podcasts but quite a bit of the writers are already insinuating the university might not have an option. He’s lost fan support and bad press will only add pressure.

In the mean time we can be assured that our weekends will be filled with disappointment and losses

I see a lot of talk on here making it sound oh so simple to spend other peoples money. I admit I'm guessing here, but I imagine it's nowhere as easy as you and many others make it sound. Humans tend to believe what they want though, especially when they are not privy to actual inside information.

Even if he's a dead man walking... And I think he is he's not going anywhere until at least after next season. And if he improves the record next year it's likely to buy him another.

I'm not saying it's the right move, I don't believe the poster you responded to was either, but that's how it's going to play out.

I’ll beg for spare change in Times Square at this point to help out...

Yea it’s probably somewhere in the middle honestly. I’m still not convinced that he suffer a bad loss especially next year he’s done.

It doesn't matter what any of us think or want, Pruitt will not get fired this year no matter what. Anyone believing otherwise are kidding themselves. .

I'm not a coach by any means but I did play football and know the game. I believe part of the problem on defense is several players are playing out of position. You have your starting middle linebacker that played running back his entire life. His back up was a running back. Your two starting corners are out of position. One was a quarterback the other I'm not really sure but he wasn't a corner. Offensive guys learn to avoid contact, defensive guys live for contact. I'm pretty sure it's probably more guys learning new positions. And often these guys play slow and lost.

Some truth to that but Banks has had 2 1/2 years and Crouch has had 1 1/2... they should be better than they are showing. Kenneth George is just flat out getting smoked and looks clueless... he’s been a corner for years.

You do know that Eric Berry and Juuan Jennings both played QB in high school. Al Wilson played RB in high school also and the list goes on and on.. This is very common when moving up from high school..

George never played high school football ball. Often times coaches move one guy maybe two from offense to defense but Pruitt is making a habit of it and I believe it hurts the defense. You're asking a kid to change everything he has learned and do something else. Recruit great corners and great linebackers and let them get better. George should not be on the field.
