Starting to hit reality

Let’s be honest, Pruitt’s year 3 team looks similar to Butch Jones teams..... it is what it is, I’m afraid:(

It’s true, we have lost 1 more game than was expected. However, did it have to be to KY? That hurts as a Vol fan. KY is the team that plays us tough but we always find that little bit extra to beat them.

The standard at TN used to be lose to no one but FL in the East and those were always hard fought contests. Losing to Vandy and KY we unimaginable. I used to feel like the world was crashing in if we lost 2 games. Now I have endured 8 losses in a season. Losing streaks to Vandy. Having to hear how my co-workers 13 daughter (who is a BAMA fan) has never lost to TN in her lifetime.

What can we do to get back to our rightful place? Clemson is stealing our recruits from Knoxville and winning with a generational talent that was a childhood Vol fan. Just cmon Vols broken clock is right twice a day.
Dude you don't get to pick who beats you. I hate losing ANY game. Who doesn't matter.

Vols will have a worst record in Pruitt’s year 3
than Butch Jones year 3
Butch had Dobbs. Pruitt has JG. Butch couldn't coach a choir without Dobbs. If we had Dobbs now you guy's would be thinking Pruitt was a football God. SMH

Let’s be honest..
The reality is that we probably were going to lose to Georgia and Bama. That reality came true. What burned us, was that we didn’t expect to lose to KY.. and the way we lost really put us in the fryer.
I did not expect UT to lose to UK. I do not think the overall talent on this team suggests that UT should have been completely blown out by any of them.

I think management of the QB position and whatever is wrong with the pass D... are where those blow outs were born.

Everybody quickly forgets it was a Henry TooToo touchdown that won the game for us against Mizzou. Our offense kept them in the game until the end. I quietly knew we were in trouble and we were 2-0 after Mizzou. My fears have been borne out, we have an inept offense, that screws our defense. Our defense can and has risen to the occasion when our offense gives them the slightest hope of competency.

You misspelled South Carolina. We beat Mizzou by 3 touchdowns

The DB situation puzzles me. That's Pruitt's specialty. How can this position of all positions on the team be so bad? It should be the strength of every Pruitt coached team. Just don't understand that one.

Kentucky hurt a lot, but I think most of VN wanted to see us be competitive against GA and Bama. While we were ahead at halftime against GA, we really did not play well at all. GA basically kept us in the game in the 1st half, and we simply imploded in the 2nd half. Bama just decimated us. This is what has got VN all up in arms.

It wasn’t that we lost, it was how we lost. Closer games with Georgia and Bama and we can say that Kentucky was at the worst place on the schedule. Having our 5th year senior QB throw 2 pick 6 on successive series is just inexcusable

While I agree with the sentiment that surely Pruitt is a vastly better coach than Butch, at least Butch recruited Dobbs. I see it as Pruitts fault that he doesn't have his "Dobbs" in year 3 if that's what it takes.

Matter of fact, Pruitt HIMSELF feels that Butch's leftover QB is his best bet to win which also gives me pause.

Pruitt had the opportunity to have a couple different QB’s.......but instead he went with a QB that isn’t seeing the field......while a couple that got away......could really be helping Tennessee right about now.

Pruitt also had the opportunity to give HB valuable in game reps.....and also chose not to do so.

But JG is the best in practice. If that is the best JP came come up with we are totally screwed for the rest of the year.

JP would not play Dobbs because he did not practice good enough.

If we go 4-1 the last five games and end up 6-4...with everything in perspective...it would be hard to be mad at that.

Dude you don't get to pick who beats you. I hate losing ANY game. Who doesn't matter.
Your preparation picks who beats you. Your drive picks who beats you. Your communication and teamwork picks who beats you. We are not showing heart or a willingness to put in the work to win. We are a more talented team than Kentucky but we can’t just show up and expect to win.

Kentucky beat us because our QB made bad decisions and gifted them 17 points. The second pick 6 was 85 yards and no one could catch a LB from our offense. That shows a lack of desire to win. The team just gave up. This all happened because our QB is not capable of running our offense and we didn’t want to throw the ball in the second half.

Yes in the nineties losing after the Florida game was a huge let down. We realed off a 7 game win streak against Alabama and routinely beat Georgia. So yeah a loss to Kentucky was unheard of. But those days are gone.

I hate losing games to anyone as well. However epically bad decisions and corrections to those bad decisions have brought us here. I expected to beat Georgia and I thought this year we could build off of last year’s Bama game and be in a place to pull an upset. But no I did not foresee the KY loss and it hurts more as it is one more record being broken.

I applaud your passion for our team. Go Vols

Reality is that we shouldn’t have played a QB that simply cost us the GA and Ky games with a ridiculous amount of TOs that were 100% his fault.

JG is at fault as well as Pruitt for refusing to put him on the bench for good
we should have a better qb at this juncture, we dont. last year we had two nfl quality receivers who made **** happen who were warriors and leaders.

Pruitt has a plan. Two solid frosh and soph classes. Limp this year, get healthy. Plug in the missing pieces.
