Currently:
RCB:Evans/Rogan
SS:Berry/Wilks/
FS:Raines/Waggner
LCB:Fleming/Johnson/Anderson

Everybody else behind them are walk-ons. Vinson is out but Im hearing he probably won't make it to camp anyway.

In the first game, I think it'll be Waggner alongside Berry; maybe Rogan. Raines may be fast, but he is both green and small. Then after getting some game experience as subs in those first couple games, FS could well be claimed by either Myles or Jackson, but we'll just have to see how quickly they pick it up.

It looks to me like we are likely to start the season with at least one first-time starter among the db's, but seems like if you do that with two out of the four, you could be asking for trouble. Yet a daring coach might get away with it with the first game being WKU. If the starters against WKU were Berry, Rogan, Waggner, and Evans, I wouldn't feel too bad about that combo.

In one of the recent articles, the coaches raved about Raines' speed. Apparently he stands out in that regard. On a team with guys like Berry and Vinson... you're doing something if you stand out.

So I guess Vince Faison got kicked when he had the DUI? Doesn't seem to be on the roster anymore.

Waggner is my pick. Think he will actually upgrade the position. I liked Morley and all but he was so inconsistent that it just wasn't worth it. He would make a big play and then blow a coverage. It was time. I think either Waggner or Raines will be an upgrade this year.

Wasn't Raines a 2 star? Just crazy to think that he has the ability to come in and play at FS as a Sophomore... I know rankings aren't everything blah blah blah, but still pretty impressive...

On the field...doubtful. But they won't be distractions.

Waggner is just as athletic. Raines is smaller. But he is faster. Don't discount these guys because of their stars.

Less because of their stars and more because of how incredibly high Monte was on Morley

It's a shame Morley wasn't as high on the Vols. If he was he would be one. But Waggner will make a lot of plays for us this year.

Waggner this year (especially early) with Jackson and Myles coming on as the season progresses.

In the long run, Jackson will be groomed at FS, and Myles is the replacement for Eric Berry. Myles is a mean, enforcing SS-type.

I don't have any inside info other than what I read on here...and I have read about Waggner and Raines playing well...

But the formula I used in determing our starting secondary at some (early) point this season is pretty simple:

Insane athletic ability + God given football instincts that are apparent watching film + Proper development from proper coaching + A coaching staff that has publicly assured us they aren't reluctant to play freshman = The staring lineup I posted

Inky was about the same size and physical ability... I don't think he was highly rated either (2*) by Rivals.
