Starting RB

I agree Coker is our RB if he stays out of trouble.....I will be interested to see what Foster's 40 time is at Pro Day...I'd rather have Coker starting and see what Creer can do.

if coker doesnt get in any trouble... there is no question about who the starter should be. He is the clear cut best back we have. NO QUESTION!

Coker averaged over 6 yds/carry last season. I don't think Foster or Hardesty averaged 4 yds/carry.

I think Charlie Gardner was the last back UT has had to come close to that.

If Ainge and Coker pick-up where they left off last year, the offense could be really special.

I have nothing but faith in Cutcliffe, the guy knows what he is doing. And i know it seems negative of me, to question how to use our talent, but until i see it i won't believe it.

I was impressed by the turnaround Ainge had in 1 yr under Cutcliffe.

Hopefully Fulmer will get Coker some significant field time. He's too much of a weapon to leave on the bench. Have him run routes if you must. That being said I think Foster will start and get around 70-75% of the carries with Coker getting most of the rest. Hardesty will find his way in there a little.

foster-half of the carries
Coker- 30% of the carries
Hardesty- 18%
Creer and others- the rest

(+or- 5%)

and i wouldnt be surprised if Hardesty got even more caries than that. There is a reason he was ahead of foster and coker before his knee injury and with over a year of recovery time he will have a big year.

Jamal Lewis was up there his freshman year, if I remember correctly. And Stephen's sr year he surely averaged over 6ypc.

Those guys also played in all our games, not just against our weak opponents. I'm impressed with Coker, but those stats make him seem like he's one of the greatest to ever wear the orange. If he comes in and has a dominant game against a quality opponent, I'll give him some more credit.

If Fulmer gives him a chance, he should do just that.

A little easier to get that kind of average when you have big games against Marshall and Vandy and you don't play against Florida and LSU, right?

Coker is the best back out of the 3 at the moment, but he has to go to class if he wants to play.

I think with another year under his belt, Hardesty could wind up being the best all-around back out of all 3 of them.

Geez, i cant wait to see the Cal game.. There's so many questions about the WR's and RB's.. it's fun to see how many starting lineups we can produce in our heads and to see how many of them will actually happen..
it's a while from now till we will know. but its worth the wait..

If our three RBs are utilized right, I see some USC flashbacks:lolabove:
