Starting RB next season

This could be interesting. I definitely think Neal is going back to RB from WR and with Graham, he could be a great back cause Neal is fast and playing a lot at WR will help him catching outta the backfield.

He's not going back to RB. Dooley has already said he likes him at WR and getting him the ball other ways

It will be lane or neal. No One else will be close. How many times do we have to go through this... Freshmen should not be starting for Ut. It's a bad thing if they are. Hell, hardesty, graham, Stephens, Lewis, Henry, foster, houston all needed time. Lane could be a phenomenal back. So could neal....

I just hate reading the thousands of posters that can't wait for freshmen to come in and take the reigns... Heck, the result of 4 and 5 star freshmen on the field is a 5 and 7 season.

That's not why we were 5-7..Injuries, poor coaching, torn locker room and the toughest schedule in the nation. Plus playing so many FR. All those were the prob not just 1 single issue.

I may be wrong but R. Neal is the fastest player on the team...I think if we had a good coach he would be fine moving to RB...he seem to be able to play faster at the end of the season..

Neal doesn't like to get hit. He is going to have to get past that if he ever hopes to be a RB. Not sure any coach can help with that..

Though your examples are terrible, I didn't say that once in every 5 years or so a legitimate players comes in ready to compete. More so, I am.saying that this board writes off players if they aren't immediate studs and then puts the same expectations on the next class of freshmen.

And that it's stupid to repeat that mistake over and over.

If freshmen are starting, it 999 times out of a thousand, it is a bad sign
You are 100 % correct. Unfortunately many here are incapable of rational reasoning.

Toney looked better than any other back, what little time he played. jmho

Keeping Neal at WR would really be ideal IMO. He's great in space. We would really benefit from another playmaker at RB. With the team and recruiting class we have right now I'm not sure. May have to add another guy. JMO

That might be a good fit for Graham though. I think Neal might be a tad smaller but there is enough physical similarity that he might be able to teach him how to take a hit.

Then he needs to get faster and shifty, untouched TD runs everytime. I could live with that..... :)

Jamal Lewis didn't need anything

Neal is what 5'11" 220 pounds or something? His body shape just doesn't look like a WR body to me. He looks too stocky. But I didn't realize that he is that fast.

I see Lane being the starter, with Neal getting reps at RB and WR. Hill is the EE that will give him time to progress and get reps early, along with one of the big backs that we will land... Pender or Davis. Personally I like Davis, but I'll take Pender.

Lane no question he will grow a lot mentally under CJG.He is a play maker a little rough around the edges but with a little coaching he will be the premiere back at UT.

Neal- thanks to Mr. Graham

This.

Graham being a young former player, he seems to be well respected as a coach, and liked by players, he kind of reminds me of Trooper Taylor.

If you guys remember Trooper got here in 2004 to be the RB coach. Riggs and Houston ran for 1000 yards each in '04.

With Bray, Rogers, and Hunter I don't see us having 2 1000 yard backs next year, but I'm hoping Graham will help us to have a consistent running game.
