Duel Threat?

Pocket Passer?

Line Protection?

WR connection?

I have no clue. What do you all think?

Before Fall camp I expected QB by committee, now the way Knoxville media is talking it sounds like Milton will be starter.

I just want the "best" to start. To answer your question, I would have thought Bailey, but I'm thinking now it will probably be Milton. At least that's what the media wants us to believe.
Bailey will win it just because of experience and temperament. I'm not sold on Milton at all. We all know he's the more talented guy though and would def put us in some better positions with athleticism.

I voted Hooker since at the time of this poll he didn't have any votes.;)
I can't really say who because I haven't seen enough of the QB's in this offense and O&W game means nothing
I guess by what's been posted video wise I would say Milton since he seems to have the most highlights posted on social media with his TD runs and pass

I doubt they’ll “publicly” name a starter until week 2. I full expect all three QBs to get live reps against BG.

Against Pitt as of now I think it will be Milton.
I hope they name the #1 before that.
The QB is the leader of the team and the team needs to know who their leader is and start rallying around him.
When you know you're the man you can play with confidence...every QB knows they can be benched but I think one needs to know he's the man and the O line and that QB gets as many reps as possible going into game 1

Agree all 3 are likely to play against BG because they are so bad but I think because this is a new offensive system they will name a starting QB after this or the last scrimmage as the starter needs to start getting the majority of the practice reps.

HB got the short end of the stick by signing with UT. First covid side-tracked all his critical practice time and 2nd UT brings in a new staff and scheme that's almost the opposite of his playing style. I feel he's thinking red-shirt this year,(if possible), and transfer at season's end.

Hooker and Milton are better suited for how CJH wants his offense run and UT will likely tweak it's play-calling for HB. I think this is Hooker's last year of eligibility and if Bailey does transfer we'll be thin in'22 at the QB position. Worst case scenario is HB transferring to UGA or UF.

edit: Hooker can play at UT for 2 years

Bailey doesn't have any more experience than Milton. Hooker has more experience than both of them combined

I haven't saw enough of any of the QB's to even give an educated guess. I just want whoever gives us the best chance to win, can run the offense and not turn the ball over.

Treating a G5 opener like a scrimmage worked so well for the last staff, hopefully this staff picks a guy and let's him get comfortable in game 1.

My heart tells me Bailey, my gut tells me it's Milton. Probably feel more loyalty to Bailey, cause I'm also from Marietta.

I prefer Bailey, not because I have a liking for Bailey's Coffee Irish Cream. Rather because I believe rightly or wrongly, Bailey has Peytonesque passing and mental skills. Thus, we'd have a genuine QB at the helm. However, the NW wind blowing out of camp, says CJH wants to win NOW. Considering how his offense operates, and Milton's decent (?) passing and dangerous mobility, this is the direction Heupel will go. However, I want our Vols to win so badly, I wouldn't mind being right, I wouldn't mind being wrong as long as we're winning.

It was a little bit telling that after the coaches were able to see the QBs on the roster for a few months, they went out actively seeking Milton. Then, once here, it's kinda like baseball: when everything else is pretty much equal, velo normally gets the nod.
