Youre missing my point.. IF Jurick can come in and perform the way i think he can over the course of the season then i would like to see Jurick at Center and Wayne at PF...

And i know the starting lineup wont look like that at the beginning of the season thats why i titled the thread Starting lineup for the 2009 "NCAA TOURNAMENT" which is in March, and 5 months into the season for Jurick to show his stuff if he isnt redshirted

No Faith in Brian Williams???

I think he will be much better next year.

He just doesnt seem to have the defensive presence to start, but i do believe he will improve tremendously on the offensive side... If he can improve 'that much' on offense and become consistent around the basket then that wouldnt be too bad of an option either...

Jurick isn't going to be like most of you think. He will be a bust in many eyes here.

Tyler won't be here I think.

are you serious, tyler aint goin to the nba he didnt play good enough in the tourney, he had a chance and if he does go it would be a dumb choice

My dream lineup based just off of potential, hype, rumors and evaluations as of right now would be...

PG - Daniel West
SG - Scotty Hopson
SF - Tyler Smith
PF - Phillip Jurick
C - Brian Williams

1. Ramar has NBA potential. At least we have seen him play against top notch competition and play well in doing so.
2. Wayne Chism has one of the more unique skill sets in the country. He is a power forward who is comfortable both down low and on the perimeter and have the ability to play excellent defense in terms of footwork and anticipation. Jurick is another 6-11 stiff who can rebound and play good defense (probably a natural center any way).

I hope you're right. He's projected late first round so he likely will stay.

The potential for length, athleticism, and shooting skill all to be on the floor at once next year is frightening. They could be physically a mirror image of this year Memphis. Add in the depth, and wow.

Someone was saying Renaldo wouldn't get a redshirt because that is so unusual in hoops... This kind of depth is truly unusual. Expect the redshirts. And I think two of them really. Jurick I think will find early, like in pilot league, that he ain't ready for an SEC beating in the paint.

JP will backup the 3. He may start if he develops a jumpshot in the offseason. Renaldo could back up Tyler at the 4.

I'd like to see a Crews/Wayne combo down low with Tyler at the 3. It would make for a better half court set IMO. And one nasty 2-3 zone with all that length.

Tatum will be an all-sec performer before his time here is done.. I guarantee it.. he has the skills and the Intensity that can win us a championship

Well, I guess anything is possible. I really don't see him even starting for at least another 2 years. Hopson will be here for 2 years, so he won't start in front of him while he's here. I believe Tyler will be here one more year, but you will have a log jam of players wanting to start at the 3 when he leaves (JP, Woolridge, Tatum). If Tyler leaves after next year, then we have one scholly available. I have a feeling Pearl's going to bring in a big time player along with Kenny Hall in the stacked 09 class (Leslie McDonald). Only time will tell.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that we will have a lot of growing up to do in the non-conference schedule?

We have a lot of talent, but I want to see someone step up as starters, and not just sharers. I don't want to see a QB battle like we had at point this year. Right now we have three solid starters in Tyler, Chism, and Hopson (top ten players are very rarely "busts"), but I want a single point guard to start 30 games and be effective too.

BTW, it's going to be interesting to see if Jurick can step up. He seems pretty mediocre, but don't forget that his Senior stats were excellent this year. Up to 18 pts, 16 rebounds, and 8 blocks a game. 8 blocks is better than what Jarvis Varnado had in high school. That's phenomenal. It's odd that he's going to probably have a game similar to Brian Williams, but we probably won't use either of them to any incredible degree. I wonder how that will go more than I wonder about our PG position.

Brian will get 15-20 minutes a game. Not to mention his offensive game is much better than Jurick's. Jurick is a better defender though.

I hope one of them gets 15-20. In fact, I hope they're good enough as a duo that we end up with Williams/Jurick/Chism at Center, Chism/Crews at PF, and Tyler/Tatum at SF. Gosh, and that's not even mentioning Childress, Prince (maybe still in the mix for SF play, who knows), and Woolridge from any of those positions. We have so much new talent.

It will be interesting to see how CBP will go about this because i can see two different starting lineups at the beginning of the season...

Ramar
Hopson
Tatum
Tyler
Chism

-OR-

Ramar
Hopson
Prince or Tyler
Crews
Chism

Id prefer the first one considering Tatum's a better outside scorer

chavis.............chill. :cool2:

I'm not mad or anything, I was just wondering if you knew how. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding what you are talking about because you respond to something and I have no idea what you are responding to.
