FWIW, Kiffin said in today's press conference that Reveiz would be the starting MLB if the season started today.

On the subject of Linebackers.

UT signed a couple of highly recruited guys, namely Chris Donald the #1 rated inside LB in 2007: Chris Donald - Football Recruiting

What happened to him? It's hard to believe he cant beat out Thompson or Reveiz by the end of fall practice. :twocents:

Stop the racial steriotyping.......for all we know Reveiz could be another Zach Thomas. I do know that Monte Kiffin knows a hellava lot more about who the best Mike to put on the field than you or I.:banghead2:

I'm not 100% sure on Askew, he could be working at WLB. So Thompson, Reveiz, McCoy would be the starters if we played WKU tomorrow. The only possible switchups I can really see are 1) Frazier being moved to SLB to start, but I think he stays at WLB because there are some injury long term injury concerns with McCoy plus Thompson is still holding his own, and 2) Lathers coming on strong and overtaking Reveiz. I don't personally think either of those will happen and I expect the depth chart above to be the same come WKU time.

Why did you leave Chris Donald off the depth chart? He was the #1 inside linebacker in 2007 on rivals. Volquest has him #2 behind Thompson, who I think he should beat out.

Just another one of Fulmer's signees who they couldn't develop. They moved him around to a few positions and he is now at DE, or at least the last I heard.

The UT sports website says hes a junior, but it doesn't mention anything about RS.

Academically, he could still be a junior, but be a redshirt soph on the field, so could anyone who knows help me out? Thanks.

He is a Junior when it comes to eligibility. He was red shirted his Freshman year. He is a senior academically.

Donald has yet to hit the switch, that if you want to be an elite player you have to work like an elite player. He's still stuck in big fish, small pond land.

He has been moved to DE this week. Some who were at the Neyland scrimmage on Saturday say it was the best Donald has looked since he has been at UT. Using his speed, Orgeron could still turn him into a big time pass rusher before it's all said and done...

He still has 3 seasons left to play. Let's just see how this all pans out...

Good luck trying to convince people that Rivals can be wrong. I've fought the Chris Donald fight for the past two seasons.

What do you base this on, other than Rivals giving him 5 stars in high school?

Donald blitzed constantly. He didn't have to play "assignment football" in high school. He was simply better than everyone else and they told him to chase the ballcarrier down.

In college it's a little different. DE is the best spot for him and that's where he's at now. He has 3 seasons to become an elite player.

Dude I don't want Rudy starting at LB. We'll see in WKU who's starting. Because I think Reveiz is a liability against the athletes the SEC will attack us with.

You should give Reveiz more credit. He's pound for pound the strongest person in the team. Is Lathers a better athlete? Probably. Will Lathers eventually be a starter at MLB this season? I think so. But don't take anything away from Reveiz, a guy that busted his ass and is a special teams demon.

I never said I hated him. I just look at who can be a pretty good player for us and who can only be a role player.
