Who are your starters at LB?

I'm going to go out there and say mine are:

Rico McCoy- WLB

Chris Donald-MLB (what a talent! Ready to breakout. Watchout guys.)

Herman Lathers-SLB (yes-Lathers is a striker. With the extra weight added to his speed he could be special).

These are mine.

There is no doubt about McCoy. Chris Donald is a very Good athlete(will be a great player). Don't know about Lathers though, what about Lamarcus Thompson or Savion Frazier? Both decent athletes as well. I don't think either of them are good enough to discount the possibility of a true freshman playing. (with the exception of McCoy & probably Donald of course) The 3rd spot will be interesting for sure.

Well with Lathers it wasn't his ability it was his weight that I was worried about. Now that he's at around 230lbs he should be very good player. He's supposed to be a very big hitter. And that was before he put on the weight.

Lathers has been really impressing everyone at the workouts. Was sick late last year and was around 205-210. He has already bulked up to 230 in muscle. Quick, fast, strong, and will hit you. He might not start this year, but he will end up being a damn good LB.

Looking at the situation at LB he may be our starter on the strongside. I think we may be strong at LB come this fall. The commentators will be saying Lathers lays the Leather to another one. Just a thought guys.

I think Askew has the ability to start as a freshman in the middle...with Rico and Donald at weak and strong.

I am feeling McCoy, Askew, and Frazier. Just have a feeling that Askew will be a star, although he might not start the first game

I agree with boxer. Lane always says that he'll give the opprotunity to start to freshman and I think Askew with his work ethic and determination will win that spot along with Donald and McCoy.

I really hope/think Donald will have a breakout year. For support, I'm going with his old school HS pic as my avatar.

if you guys would read getyopopcornready's depth charts, you wouldn't have to ask these questions.

it's a debate about who we think might start or be good for us at lb next year, there's absolutely nothing wrong with any of these questions or statements.

I just said you wouldn't have to ask them, I didn't say there was anything wrong with them.

If we have a three or four man battle for starting spots come spring/fall camp, i'm alright with that under the right circumstances. Hopefully, that will be a sign that several guys are ready to play and not a sign that we don't have anybody who can get the job done.

I really would like for those three guys I mentioned to step and be a good group. Then next year we could move Donald to the strong side and allow Askew to start in the middle if he's good enough. Or King to slide in on the strongside and Lathers to go to the weakside which is where I think he fits best at. Also thinking that Kiffin may use some 3-4 formations at times on third down. But who knows have never seen the Bucs in a 3-4 formation.

Rico of course is the only for sure. I think by the time fall is upon us we'll see Savion Frazier and Lathers/Thompson as the main starters. Whether or not they stay there, only time will tell. I just don't see any of the freshman being big enough or having the system down enough by the time WKU rolls around. This position is without a doubt the most well stocked.

Dude, he was responding to another poster. Let's read prior posts before policing the board shall we? :)

I know what he was responding to my friend. Not policing just having a little fun and I read the thread before I posted. I was just being sarcastic and if you didn't get that, oh well. I am not one to just blurt out comments without the facts.

I seriously don't know if a freshman will start this year on our D. It remains to be seen though. I do think the staff will find out that the talent is better than they expect.
