I love my Vols and these kids.
But this team reminds me of Battle's last 2 years.
Nothing going on anywhere.

Can we isolate the problem to the OL's inability to pass block?

When a true freshman comes in and plays better than those who were “coached” by this staff it speaks volumes. Jack Jones was a good example (can say Trey too but he is truly a stud who should be able to overcome the coaching). McBride looked better in his first plays than JG did. In this scheme and play calls not any QB is going to look too good though- except maybe a rocket scientist who improvised

We have great athletes that play hard . We just dont have a very good team . I think with the right coach we will be shocked at how good are players are.

Lost to UK for only 2nd time in 32 years. Haven't won a conference game.
Not starting from scratch. Good to know.

Its the OL system. Its a system meant to be used by undersized OLmen to use misdirection instead of strength. Maybe works in the midmajors but not in the P5. The question is, can these guys be power OL for the next coach or they just going to get pushed around for him too?

Thanks for the compliment.
You'll be smarter if you research my posts.
I didn't blame Butch today.
But I'm about to, cos I don't see how we get to a bowl.
Hope I'm wrong.

So the tipping point of Butch's accountability with you, is not making a second-tier bowl game in season 5?

That would explain your post history.

Worked for auburn and clemson . I hate the scheme though

This patchwork oline will take years to fix, even if we get a new head coach who brings in a competent P5 oline coach.

Maybe, maybe not. Its been said that Kiffin did a great job with a patchwork OL in 1 season. A really good coach should be able to do the same.
