Starters at QB and RB for 2013?

Just want to get your guys opinion on who you think will win the starting jobs for both QB and RB next year? I think Peterman will be the QB because he is more of a dual threat than Worley and that's what CBJ is looking for in a QB to run his offense. I then believe that Marlin Lane will finally be the starter at RB and show us how good of a RB that he was advertised to be when he committed.

QB - Bray
RB - Lane

Peterman will sit on the sideline his redshirt freshman year, then have 3 years to run the offense.

Worley will sit.

No, but I just get the feeling he will go into the draft
and the purpose of this thread is to see how many people think that Bray will be the starter next year or if they think he will go pro.

Too early for this thread. Try it again after the O/W game. Bray hasn't stated his intentions. Jones can run either pass first and dual threat in his O. So it could be Worley or Peterman. Both QB'd spreads in HS.

Worley will be a different QB under Jones. He has everything going for him. He is a proven winner and leader. He needs receivers that run consistent routes in order to maximize his efficiency. (note how well Peyton plays when his receivers don't read the hot route). An off-season playing with the 1s and perfecting the timing routes are going to be key to Worley's success.

I am pretty confident that Bray is leaving so, I think That Ferguson, Peterman and Worley will battle it out and ultimately I think Peterman will win the job. Worley will be his backup and Ferguson will RS...

As far as RB goes, I think we will take a "by the committee" approach. I think Lane will be the starter with Neal getting alot of work as well. But if they end up signing a big time RB this class, that RB (a la Derrick Green) could move up the depth chart quickly as the season progresses...

My opinion is we need Bray to go, so we can fully get a new start on the program. I know Bray is good, but I think the others could be just as qualified given the chance...

pick up contrez mccathern from mount juliet high look him up i have seen this kid for 4 yrs a beast went against better defenses than the hurd kid from beech recruiting is more word of mouth than actual talent

Worley and Neal. Jay graham really likes Neal, unless Green comes in expect Neal as day 1 starter.

I still say Worley because he has played the same system in HS and was POY. He does need good WR's as this system requires timing and the WR's to run good routes. I actually eect Jacob Carter to have a good year, just because him and Worley have great timing.

Peterman is the wild card because CBJ recruited him and he has the ability to run. I just think he needs more time in this system than Worley does right now.

Wouldn't this past year be considered Petermans's redshirt year, so he can't use that next year?

This is the best case scenario, a Junior QB and Senior RB with enough experience to pick up on the new scheme and act as leaders in the offense.

If Peterman can win the position, then more power to him and the better for all of us, in my view. I think Neal has the ability to have a good year in 2013, especially with the OLine coming back.

RB- Lane

Slot/Motion Back-Neal (He has shown to catch very well, I think he could move around)

I just really can't imagine Bray returning for his senior season. I hope he would, but then again, maybe it's time we moved on from him and his antics. Also, this system may not even truly favor him to begin with. Seems like Peterson is molded best for it.

As for running back, why not use both efficiently? We have two RB's that have shown they can catch the ball very well, and the running game has vastly improved under Jay Graham. The offense is going to lose some potent weapons for this next season. We have excellent talent on offense, but it's young (sound familiar?). I can see Coach Jones coming up with creative ways to get both of our experienced RB's to make plays.

I just don't see Bray staying. He would have to learn a new offensive scheme, probably have to adjust to throwing to a completely different WR corp, and there really is no potential at a shot for an SEC or National Championship. Unless he really is that adamant about earning his college degree...and up to this point I see no evidince to support that...I'd say he's good as gone.
