If playing Worley helps us have a better chance at winning I agree, If it is to siimply get him some snaps and burn his red shirt for nothing I say NO

Let me ask a question ... was playing Bray half-way into his freshman year a waste of a red-shirt season? Or was it worthwhile getting him those reps?

Most of us agree that we won't beat bama with either Simms or Worley. And that we are likely to beat mtsu, vandy and ky with either simms or worley. What about SC? Can Worley deliver the ball in the receivers' reach better than Simms, yes or no?

If that last answer is yes, then I would play Worley, late in Bama game, just like Bray was brought in later in the GA and SC games and made both mistakes and good plays. Then get him groomed for serious playing time in the SC game this year to give it our best shot for a w there.

The coaching staff, having evaluated him in practice, say no. As I've said before, the redshirt issue is not what is keeping him off the field at this point.

They never really intended to or planned on redshirting Bray; it's not really nearly as even a comparison as you're trying to make it out to be

I think that the benching and the coaching has messed up Simms' head. He's afraid to hold the ball the time it takes him to read the field. Dooley wants Dan Marino, not Joe Montana.

Screw the RS - this is about winning games this season - surely theres more 4 and 5 star QBs coming up in the next couple seasons to recruit. Bray leaves after next season anyway - put him Dooley quit being a conservative :realmad:

I don't think we should burn the RS to try and salvage a season that was never going to be better than about 6-6 anyway. 2 years of Worley post Bray is better than just 1.

Simms had his chance last season - no way should he be given the job back. Crompton as a RS freshman played LSU tough before Fulmer brought in the clown Clawson.

you never know how good he is - play him now - if he is a bust then what no QB :devilsmoke: BTW not the time to be saying wait til next year - thats the Chicago Cubs quote and they are losers. Put the kid in NOW

he cant win any more games this season than Simms could...do not waste a redshirt...we will need this kid two years and on from now

I say don't play Worley. No use in burning a RS especially when we all know that Tennessee can't compete against the upper SEC schools. Let Simms play it out and beat Middle TN and then Bray can come back for either Vandy or UK

Don't you think if the kid was ready to play they would not have already played him.
He is probably not ready and if not you sure don't throw him in against teams like lsu
and bama. We are rebuilding, its painful but it takes time. we still go 7-5 this year and beat sc

So,,in yer opinion, a RS freshman is going to do better than a senior that has faced this team before? Please grab yer peas if you can find them and understand that this is not peewee football. You also need to understand that this is not ONLY about winning games this season - it is about building a future. You sound like one of the jacktards that want to put Worley in now - but will ***** when his eligibilty is up. Do us all a favor and let CDD do what he feels is right for the team. Do us all a favor and get behind CDD and his decisions. Tell me this - just why is it so important to you that we burn a quality redshirt - and will more than likely get beat by 'bama????? What would that prove??
