Star Thomas, mama there goes that man!

Part of the reason he was so successful today was because he was a change of pace back.

Don't change something that doesn't need fixing. Bishop broke 5 tackles today and was huge in the pass game. His power running opened up.the passing game his physical running set the tone.

You all still can't get over that he WAS a walk-on.
dude beat out Keith, Seldon, and now he's still ahead of an ever improving Lewis. Thomas offered a change of pace that the defense wasn't ready for.

I've been one of the main ones hyping Thomas up, and no he doesn't need to start.
He still got the most carries anyway.

I also believe they aren’t releasing the full arsenal of plays to involve Star yet.

Thomas seems to have it all. Bishop is a power runner, but when he breaks Into the open doesn’t appear particularly fast.
I'll take a guy like Bishop that can get 8 yards on brute force all day. Late in the game the defense has had enough of a guy like that.

I think Star Thomas outperformed some more talented backs ahead of him because he's a veteran who understands the play and works with his blockers. I don't think he's as good at making a guy miss, overpowering one defender, or finishing a breakaway run, but he had the best night just by hitting the hole at the right time. He was getting sizable chunks untouched, plus he can catch. He did pull off a sweet "Sampson spin" late in the game, though.

I’m really starting to like getting older guys from the portal. They tend to add instant value.

Bet pass blocking grades factor into the staff’s sequencing.

Thomas is a 6-year man like Joey who has played a ton of college football. He is a superb pass receiver and along with the tight ends can compensate for the lack of a premiere wide receiver. Definitely benefits from the bonus year as does Kitselman from the Diego Pavia lawsuit affecting former JUCO players. This was an under the radar genius recruiting move by Tennessee staff.

Agreed.

I just hope we continue to incorporate the RBs into the passing game. Any OC that doesn't make you ask what is going on here.

I'm actually coming around to these underdog guys playing football at a lower level earning their way up the ladder through the portal. I could never fault a guy for bettering his situation.

Kinda weird how we didn't hear anything much about Thomas preseason but now we know he's a freaking stud. Getting Joey for Nico worked out great for us! TN football is fun again!
