I was at a comedy club in Knoxville a year or two ago (I never can remember what it's called, but it's near Cotton Eyed Joe's and is rather famous) and Donald Glover was opening for Brad Williams around the South.

And he started this bit that starts with "Did you guys know that Dolphins rape in the wild? Humans aren't the only animals who do that."

I was fairly inebriated at that point, 2 for 1 drink night and I wasn't driving, and I knew this fact. I was also sitting near the front. So I just naturally started nodding my knowledge of knowing while eating and looked up. He saw me nodding and goes "This guy is shaking his head yes waaay to much. He knows from personal experience, get some therapy with the settlement you should've gotten from the aquarium man."

The place died, but I probably laughed harder than anyone else there. To me being able to improvise, involve the crowd, change your set and your rhythm at all is an impressive thing for a comic to do. Bonus points if you can make fun of someone.

The crazy thing is it's so easy for those guys to do crowd work. It doesn't really translate to TV/specials but it's fun in person.

Dave Attell is still one of my favorites. He has a newer show called Roadwork that you can get on Netflix.

Just to avoid running afoul of board rules I won't post but if you Google Dave Attell Road Work there's a youtube video (short, about 1:30) that is a riot. :hi:

I once saw Brad Garrett (From Everybody loves Raymond) in San Antonio. It was the worst show I've ever seen.

If you can handle outrageous obscenity, watch Jeselnik's new special on Netflix. It's phenomenal.

I can see that for sure. I can also understand people thinking he's a prick. But, I think he followed up his break out years with a solid special here.

I saw Rodney Carrington live here in Knoxville about a month or so ago. It was a good show, but probably not worth $45 a ticket.

The bit about the Bible from Grandma was fantastic. And his discussion about his too-soon tweets was so great to me because I have quoted his Batman tweet many times. I saw that tweet when he tweeted it and showed it to everybody. So calling back to it specifically as one of his best too-sooners was special for me lol
