What game do you think will really stand out as our best played this season? (considering difficulty as well)

I think the LSU game b/c of the mess that was made of it at the end of last season's game. It being a home game will help. The fans should be really into it too. We could be coming off of a 4-1 start if things go well with Georgia and set us up for a pretty successful rebuilding season.

Our Vol team will be even younger than last year's team. I hope your right about a 4-1 start though.:good!:

Hopefully the LSU game will be a prime time ESPN kickoff.

Would love to see this, but both team would need stellar records, im gonna say 330 cbs, 8 pm espn would be best case, 12 pm JP might wanna go ahead and throw in the towel on the season

If we start 4-1 or 5-0 I'm guessing that it will be the CBS game that week. The more I think about it, I can't discount the idea that it is very possible.

I think that we will get run over by LSU. Then again, I thought that last year too. Our standout game will be Florida, hopefully.

Our "Stand-out Game"?

Truth is, we have 8 of them. Each depending on the game, or games, before it.

And the stakes will go up every week.

First, Montana and Cincinnati. A "two-fer". Win both, and we're on track...to Gainesville.

A split, and we're a serious underdog down the road.

Florida, in Gainesville. Stand-out game.

Georgia, in Knoxville. Stand-out game.

LSU, in Knoxville. Stand-out game.

At Alabama. Stand-out game.

South Carolina, in Knoxville. Stand-out game.

At Arkansas. Stand-out game.

So, 8 of them...each depending, to some extent, on the one(s) before it.

Fact is, for this team, and this staff, every game will be a "Stand-out game".

Here's hoping UT stands out.

Go Vols.

I think every game is a stand out game. We just don't have the luxury of cruising through any of the games. I think a 7 wins is a reasonable expectation for this team. Thats just my personal opinion and I hope we win them all. For me personally I would love to see us destroy ga and beat UF and LSU, but I know those 3 teams are way more loaded than us. I really like what CDD is doing and I feel like this program is 1 to 2 years away from being really competitive.

Go Big Orange!!

I think LSU beats us by two touch downs, if we are 4-0 or 0-4.

I don't understand why people keep saying this. The team and fans should have been fired up last year against Alabama because of the way the '09 game ended, but that didn't stop Alabama from steamrolling us by 4 touchdowns on our own field. Don't you think if anything last year's game will motivate LSU and ensure that they don't overlook us again? I don't see any way UT can even keep it close against a team with so much more talent than we have right now.

With 3rd and Chavis coaching the D, the O always has a chance. I still say if UT finds itself in a 3rd and 2 they need take a couple of delay of game penalties to make it 3rd and 12. It is a virtual lock that you'll pick up the 1st down when you have more than 10 yards to go against a Chavis coached D.

I'm not saying its a lock. Someone is going to bring their A game and even with UT at a down swing we don't have so much of a gap that a great game from us couldn't be a mediocre game from LSU. Sure if we both play to the best of our ability LSU will prob. win at this point, but teams don't always play their best.

I really think LSU could be a stand-out game for us either way it goes. I suspect it will show the direction of the season considering the talent level of our high end opponents.

I don't see why so many fans are already throwing in the towel for every big game next season. If we suck that bad lets just shutdown the football program stop trying to fight the gods (Bama, UGA, UF, and LSU).

They have a lot of talent but that doesn't mean that they will gel as a team. I have yet to see a Les Miles team play up to the talent level that they have.

South Carolina

They'll be #1 in the SEC coming into Knoxville, and we whip them just like old times.

I wouldn't say were younger. Other than Moore, Jones and Sticker we didn't lose anything and all those Freshman are now Sophomores. Plus with a couple Jucos we could be more seasoned.Jmo

I'll give you Miles and Chavis, but by mid-October, I'd be surprised if JJ is still the starting QB. Not having him dragging that offense down will be a major boost if Miles can ever figure out that he's probably got a better option.

We did last year at their place. I doubt we'll win, but it wouldn't surprise me if LSU didn't show up because Miles forgot the time of the game.

Like I said earlier, it has a lot of parrallels with the '09 Bama game, and that didn't end well for us last year. I don't see any way we'll sneak up on LSU this year considering the scare we gave them last season. They'll be ready and should handle us with little to no problem.

Stand out game. Against all odds, contrary to any degree of sensibility, we will pull off a 24-16 victory over Alabama. Unfortunately, this hard fought, hard hitting game where UT players all but literally leave their hearts on the field it will cost us in injuries. Which will make things dicey for us the rest of season. But the Vols will come to play in this game, and play they will.
