Staff changes for next year.

What's gonna happen when the '12 class comes in and a few of the newcomers take the starting roles? Everybody is gonna go back to saying, "well we're young". Age doesn't make a damn bit of difference on how talented someone is. This is gonna be Dooleys third recruiting class and if everything goes the way it should, we should have a good year in '12. Depth and youth SHOULD be thrown out the window, but for some reason i don't think it will.

There is a big difference between a few new starters and over half a unit being thrown in when they aren't ready.

What I'm saying is if you put Bray under Weis or Cutcliffe then you have a true QB. I don't think he has fully developed yet. His potential is out the door. I think what Bray is doing is all based on his talent, don't really think Hinshaw is doing much teaching the position.

My opinion is, no sophomore is really developed. It should be obvious that he will be MUCH more developed as a senior.

That is exactly my point.
No it wasn't.

I wish people would just get the hell off CDD's back and show some patience. We need continuity, not more change. Our biggest problem is speed. We don't have much.

If new people come in and take over at positions, and then we have guys that used to be starters now providing depth, then wouldn't you say we're a hell of a lot deeper?

If the recruits coming in are inexperienced, and it affects their play, then our current starters would retain their positions, wouldn't you think? If the new kids take over at certain positions, it just shows how depleted the roster is currently, but it wouldn't ever be a downgrade.

This off season Coach Dooley needs to go over his staff and make some changes. I never was and will be a big fan of Hinshaw. I think the guy is a pretty good recruiter, and IF we do keep him it will be because of his past in Florida recruiting. Since Day 1, Chaney should have been the QB coach.

Hinshaw has done an excellent job with Bray IMO. The only time CHaney ahs coached QBs was when he started out at Fresno St. Managing a QBs psyche is an art as Cutcliffe proved with Ainge.

Well if you so say LWSVOL and then I guess he is doing fine. You know your facts.

Most people on here thought it would be our strength on defense during fall camp. Not really that funny. Hell that included me but of course Janzen wasnt dismissed yet.

when the season started janzen was gone. Anyone who thought our secondary was going to be really good without him was fooling themselves. Can't take away a talent like that two weeks before the season and expect to be really good

just an opinion my friend... nothing factual with what I said.

We do need some staff changes though. Just not sure how he makes them work. I think we need 2 additional elite recruiters.

I think Moore, Brewer, and Teague have been a huge dissappointment in the secondary. Especially Teague, the poor guy has been running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Brewer has had some big hits this season but his coverage has been weak. The future looks bright with Coleman and Randolph. Lanier has had some good moments.

I think the guy is a pretty good recruiter, and IF we do keep him it will be because of his past in Florida recruiting. Since Day 1, Chaney should have been the QB coach. I know his history as a position coach has mainly been with OL and TE, but this is the guy that called Drew Brees' plays @ Purdue.
The guy is doing a pretty good job as a Recr. Cood, but I don't think Terry Joseph is a very good secondary coach. I really thought our secondary this year would be real good, obviously you can't replace a Janzen Jackson but guys like Moore and Teague have been a bust so far this year. Although I think Coleman and Randolph have come on strong and look promising.
The guy is an ace recruiter and a good LB coach but I think his work is cut out for him as a DL coach, but I hope Thompson stays on staff. This guy will pull some Georgia and Alabama talent. I know some people are calling for Hiestand's hand, but remember this guy has had some good success on his resume. I know our running game has been terrible all year but I think a good reason why it is not working 'cause we don't have a RB coach. I thought Chaney was the RB coach but according to utsports.com, we don't have a RB coach listed. I think Chaney's playcalling has been very good and I believe Wilcox's D has played up to its potential, but the 2nd half kills us with our depth but this will pay off in the near future. Our special teams play has been better under Russel, everytime Young has the ball in his hands I tend to hold my breath. I think the asst coach that should get all the praise for his work and recruiting efforts is Coach Sirmon. This guy has taken a former FB and 2 freshmen and they have racked up some good stats here recently. Our linebackers have played superb football this year. Maggit and Johnson are going to be studs in this league and I expect the same thing from Santos. Last but not least GO VOLS!

Volnation needs to make a change next year and fire you from being allowed to make posts. :lolabove:

You are an idiot if you think Dooley will get rid of Hinshaw, he is outstanding as a QB coach, and more so is making HUGE inroads in Fla. recruiting. Do you even know anything about him? background etc... You should look it up, it would probably do you some good.

You're right, he is making some HUGE inroads in FL. And that's all he is doing. I just don't think he's a real good QB coach. Just simply man's opinion. I hope the guy has success here. I don't want anybody to lose their job under any circumstances.

2 additional elite recruiters?

IMO we're getting some pretty good tallent. Not gonna get into the star debate but just outside the top ten classes with our recent on-the-field record seems pretty damn good.

I'd like to see the players we have improve from year to year. RB's have taken a decline this year and so has our sec.

That's fine, but you've provided basically nothing to back up your claim that he's a bad QB coach. Bray has been unbelievable, and Matt Simms is going to be below average no matter who coaches him. We basically have no way of knowing either way because we have had both extremes in terms of talent these past two seasons.
