What needs to be done with our crowds to get our stadium to be the most raucus, feared, and uncomfortable place for opposing teams?

I know alot on here feel that the uppity more reserved crowd have taken over. What needs to be done to change this?

What can we do as a fanbase to achieve this?

Can we come up with something where 107,000 people are on their feet and loud in unison for a majority of the game yelling, chanting, singing, screaming, and just a step away from madness?

I have to believe that as part of our "rebuilding" of this program that the atmosphere and the way it is perceived by the nation would only go to enhance our appeal. I want everyone in the nation football fan or not to know about Neyland Stadium and what happens inside.
(I understand winning helps.......so please do not use this as the answer. We are going to win again and win big, so the stadium atmosphere you can envision in compliment to the greatest football team in the country)

UT doesn't have a cheer to get the crowd in unison. I'm 38 and have been going to games for as long as I can remember and that has always stood out to me. Ark has the Woo Pig Sooie thing, UF has the gator chomp, "Go Gators", and Two-bits, four-bits (as lame as that sounds but the entire crowd does it), Bama has Roll-Tide.

UT doesn't have anything except a "Woo" during Rocky Top. I'm not a Woo fan, but regardless, it isn't enough.

What are you talking about? We have the entire refrain from Rocky Top. We just don't have a product on the fields that's worth cheering about right now.

You're serious? Have you ever been to a game at another stadium? If so, you would know what I mean.

I understand the winning, it will help. But, anything in terms of more participation. The gimmicky white outs, or orange outs, or something similar to the crowds involvement in soccer overseas?

This. We have more in unison than any other (football) fan base I'm familiar with. Now we might could do with some more raucous, but we have the unison.

If winning can't be an answer, this thread probably won't get many replies. I am one of those loud, annoying, stand and shout fans when I go to a game. However, even I start to feel pretty stupid when I'm cheering like there's no (voice) tomorrow and we're down by four TD's and you can tell there's no chance of pulling it out. I also start to feel foolish when I'm wearing myself out cheering when we're up 8 TD's on WKU. Fans are humans, not robots. We make noise when we feel like it.

1) lower prices - simply put, I have noticed that the less money you have, the more enthusiastic you tend to be about sports. I know thats a generality, but true nonetheless. We have priced a lot of our more vocal fans out of the stadium and into the sports bar/den.

2) luxury boxes suck noise and energy out of a crowd. I have no proof of this, but I believe it anyway.

3) free tickets to students and more of em. The students are the highest energy fans, but when you have to choose between tickets and beer, beer too often wins. Plus, the ones that opt for the beer over tickets are usually your louder more rowdy fan. Also, taking out student seats to put in higher dollar seats is a no no.

Just my two cents...

Yes I am and yes I have.

So remind when the entire stadium sang the chorus to Rocky Top and it rattled the stadium. I'm not sure how old you are or how many games you've been too, but I can't seem to recall what you're describing.

Agree about the students. It would be nice to get more of them in. We were always the idoits, but always had the best time and usually were the loudest and most involved.
Something about the that feeling, and it is different as an alumni. I love UT and going for a game, but it was somehow different as a student.
