Fellow Vol fan here, I am running the St. Jude country music 1/2 marathon in a couple of weeks and am part of a group trying to raise extra money for the kids at St. Jude. I made a goal (which in my eyes is kind of like a promise to these kids) of $750 to be raised, I am still pretty far from that goal. In thinking of ways to raise a little extra money, I realized that I have a great resource of VOLUNTEERS here in VolNation!! I am asking for any amount possible, I don't care if it is pocket change or a hundred dollars, every little bit helps these kids in need. Plus, I challenged a Florida fan who is participating in the same thing that we could raise more than them. thank you so much in advance and GO VOLS!!! I posted the link down below:

I was 15 when admitted to St. Jude. I am now 31 years old and they are the only reason I lived to see 31. So, any help vol fans can give volfan1624 would probably be appreciated by him and St. Jude. Great cause GO BIG ORANGE !!!!!!

Running in the race as well. Also do the one in Memphis. Very special event. Touches the heart of everyone running

I'll be in China for 2 weeks prior to the event. Very hard to train in all of that smog.

Good luck to you

I am willing to dedicate 2 hours in my call center during prime time to call the nashville area and let people know about your run and to tell them where to go to fundraise for you.

I will need you to send me a pdf file breaking down how the person can donate and so forth. If there are mutliple ways they can donate either through website or phone number this will be helpful.

Please get me this info as soon as possible so I can set up the campaign.

This is a great cause, my oldest son became a St Jude kid on May 23 last year. Out of the blue he started having headaches after his High School baseball games. He was also very tired and didn't want to do anything when practice was over. My wife and I suspected something was wrong but never dreamed it was leukemia. Through Cancer our lives have changed and our eyes opened to such a wonderful place in St Jude. With God and St Jude on his side his battle with leukemia is over. Remission came after about a month of treatments. His battle now is with chemotherapy as this is some bad stuff. He has to go for chemo once a week for 70 more weeks. His treatment should be over in July or August next year, and Lord willing he will be able to go back to the baseball diamond as a senior. He started one game with the varsity team as a freshman and got a win, he is so ready to take the mound again. He will achieve his goals and has planned to return to St Jude as a pharmacist when he gets out of college. None of this is possible without donations from people just like us, so please give to this cause like no other, children's futures depend on it!

The deadline to donate through my page is April 18th, so please donate anything you can. However please do not think this is the only way to help St. Jude out!! Anytime you are fortunate enough to help these children out, please find it in your heart to spare some change. The team captain for our running team actually visited St. Jude and was telling me stories of things she saw that touched her while we were running one day and they were amazing!! Small things like the desks and counters when you walk in are children's height so they can "feel big" when they walk up to them. They have a 24 hour cafeteria that will make almost anything a child can thing of at anytime of the day, so if a sick child wakes up at 3 AM and wants grilled cheese and french fries, it will be in their room in no time! They do so much for these kids and and they are non-profit so they do it all with donations from people like us! Please spare anything you can VOLFANS!!! Thank you:salute:
