Sr Bowl Practice: Arian Foster just fumbled without getting hit.

But Arian doesn't read message boards. So his feelings are never hurt and frankly, he could care less what you say. I certainly don't share it with him either. He has other things to think about than folks behind a computer who can stand in judgement of him, his former teammates and coaches. It's certainly always easier to criticize than to create.

It doesn't bother me either that you think I'm an embarassment. I don't really care what others think of me. I'm nice to folks who are nice to me. And I've met plenty of Vol fans who are wonderfully kind and passionate people. I receive almost daily private messages and emails from fans who DO appreciate Arian's time on the hill. Those are the people who matter to me.

I figured by now Arian would be yesterday's news and to a certain extent, he is. And yet a thread about his shortcomings or failures can still garner 10 plus pages of comments. In Hollywood, any attention is good attention. Maybe that applies here too.

Y'all are funny.

Feeding to the masses of the lunatic fringe will lead to more scrutinization. Why do you need affirmation from the messge boards for your son's time here? Do you crave the attention?

I personally do not think its good to come on board to a bunch of armchair qb's looking to change one's opinion how your son plays. His play speaks for itself, good or bad.

The next time that you see the players stating their name and where they went to school at in the beginning of the game, try to remember how many players actually say "THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE". I bet Arian will. Still....

He will have to start first..or even get drafted which I don't see either happening

While everyone is appreciative of what Arian has done for UT, they are still entitled to their opinion . . . .

Just because you are entitled to an opinion, doesn't mean you have to express it.

Arian's gone. He played hard for Tenn. I'm sorry he disappointed some of you. But poking fun at him at this point is classless and unproductive.

So what you're saying is: I should know by now how people feel about Arian and I should just let it go. I should just accept that Arian cost the Vols many games and I should just accept that he has more haters than not. Just how it is. I should also know that no matter what I say in defense of him, it comes off sounding bitter and bad but what people say about him is warranted, therefore, it's not bad or bitter sounding.

Is that really what you're saying???

Not playing one side or the other. He had his bright spots and not so bright spots.

But, you probably just confused half the readers with that comment. Props for being able to articulate. Funny how everyone elses thoughts are opinions based on facts, and yours are bitterness based on facts.

Did you ever stop to think she might be a diehard Vols fan?

Considering her son is UT's 2nd all-time leading rusher. She might even be a little more diehard than yourself.

Is this a serious question?

Why wouldn't it be? He questioned why she was here. Do you question whether she is a fan or not? Why would you think she isn't?
I was questioning the whole "she's a more diehard fan than you are because her son played for the Vols" thing. I'd hope she was a fan of the team that her son played for and that gave him a free ride through college.

I think if Coach Cutcliffe had been here for Arian's entire career at UT, there's no doubt that Arian would have ended up as UT's career rushing leader, by a healthy margin. Fact is, he had it all but wrapped up heading in to the '08 season. And then the '08 season happened.

There are a couple of things I feel relatively safe in saying...(1) Arian will get drafted, and he will find a place, and a career, in the NFL. (2) He won't end up being the next Travis Henry.

I'm glad Arian was a Vol...I doubt if I could have held on to the ball any better than he did...and it's time to let this young man move on with his life, and his career.

Go Vols.

Please quit acting like it's classless to talk about a player or former player. He played here. Whether or not the fumbles were his fault or not does not matter.

Quit babying these MEN. If they can't handle internet goobers like us ripping them, they have bigger problems than fumblitis or moms jumping online to defend them in their battles.

Classless is breaking his window or threatening him or his family. Please worry less about grown men and more about your own house.

You said it, I'm just agreeing.

If it's going to be a personal attack, as many here have been, go make it in person. If they're your words, go stand behind them.

Fair is fair, right?

Go Vols.

Is saying someone has butter fingers a personal attack? Really? No one said he was a baby kicker. Simply that the man has a problem fumbling. Tiki Barber did as well until Coughlin got him to understand how to hold the ball. Did Tiki's mom jump on the Giants board and start defending him?

Just remember Fostermom when someone is in the national spotlight they are subject to criticism like anyone else might be. There plenty more people that appreciate your son's dedication and hardwork than the people who condone him.

Think the word you're looking for pal is condemn...

I just don't see the point of bashing a former player (or coach), especially to his mom. What's the relevance today?

She may be a die-hard fan, However, I only see her post in threads discussing her son.
I have seen very few posts in comparison from her on other topics on this board anyways.

Seems to me a die-hard fan would discuss more aspects of Vol Football than just one player.

Just my opinion....

Just for giggles I looked down at the previous AF threads and clicked on the first one form the 05 Bama game to see what our opinions were back then.
I dont know OWB from a whole in the ground but he nailed it 4 years ago.

Woa... from some Gator fan in that same thread.

He's garbage. He got lucky against Alabama and won't rush for more than 50 yards in a game against Florida. Oh, I'm sorry I was expressing my hopes out loud. To be honest, he looks pretty dang good. That's the kind of runner you need against tough SEC defenses
:eek:hmy:

You are an idiot....I am sure I am not the first one to tell you so.
