Sr Bowl Practice: Arian Foster just fumbled without getting hit.

So reality is even too much for you to handle, Mr. Null and Void? Arian had a good run, but dropped the ball, literally. So yeah, I would tell anyone that would defend what he did and didn't do for us to suck it up.

So once again, I wouldn't have a problem with you saying it to me, but to his mom?? Do you have like an untouchable ego or something?? I know that it's a message board and all, but that's still not a good thing to project towards a player's parent. Arian sure did fumble at the wrong times, but that's not the reason we lost the games we did, IMO. Individual mistakes do hurt, but overall team play has been an issue over the past few seasons.

All I have to say on the subject is that I felt Arian was either playing through some pain for most of the season or possibly he had lost some passion/enthusiasm due to no team chemistry. Anyone who has played at a skill position past 3rd grade knows that fumbles happen (to some more than most). The thing is getting past the mistake/accident, whatever, and concentrating on the next play/series. Mr. Foster was a great UT running back and I can't help but feel for him that his senior season turned out this way. It's not fair to be honest, but like a fumble he needs to get his head straight and concentrate on the next play...which is getting himself NFL-ready...and I'm confident he'll succeed in his future endeavors.

I lost money twice because of his costly fumbles (Penn State and Bama). I wish him the best of luck, but I am glad his career at UT is done.

Ego has nothing to do with the situation, this is based on fact. And I do realize to whom I'm speaking. But after reading her posts, constantly defending him on here to no end (and I realize why she does it), I just have to set the record straight.

Message board or not, if she was spewing this junk in a public place and I was present, and especially with the heart, soul, and money I have put into this program, I would have to call her on it, no matter who she is.

I'm sure she's a great person, and I realize that my mom would do the same for me. But I would tell my mom that "those people are right" and to stop the futility.

We had alot of team mistakes of the past few years, then there's critical individual errors. Unfortunately, Foster is infamous for his forever in UT lore.

He has. His freshman year, his fumble against South Carolina as he was trying to score. That was him. The fumble against Penn State was him. He had two hands on it, but he's got to keep it. The fumble against SC last season that our guy recovered, was Arian. The fumble against UCLA at the beginning of this season was definitely him.

So Yes, would be my answer. I've never denied that, but I don't care what anyone says, the Florida fumble where Erik handed off with the wrong hand, not him. The fumble this season against Auburn, not him.

You talking about this G-Town?? That's setting the record straight. Looks like you did the same thing I did with your original post.

I'll admit that this is the first time that I've seen that post, but it's not entirely true. The "his arm should have been here and his arm should have been there" argument was Fulmer trying to explain away a loss.

Foster has the ability to be a quality back in the NFL. Starter? I would say no. But then again, there arent that many RBs that can come out of college into the NFL and start. He will be drafted (probably 6th round) and learn to play special teams and be a back up RB. The nice thing for him, is that he can catch the ball out of the backfield and also, there are a ton of starting RBs who get injured each year so backups get the spotlight.

He has the chance to earn the NFL pension (4 year minimum) with at least a payout of $800 a month.

Story of his career

Wow

Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed one of the rare moments where a college player's draft stock has dropped without a poor senior bowl game, poor grades or off-field issues, or a poor showing at the nfl combine / pro days

So what you're saying is: I should know by now how people feel about Arian and I should just let it go. I should just accept that Arian cost the Vols many games and I should just accept that he has more haters than not. Just how it is. I should also know that no matter what I say in defense of him, it comes off sounding bitter and bad but what people say about him is warranted, therefore, it's not bad or bitter sounding.

Is that really what you're saying???

I dont know/care what all these "Business Majors" say on this board. I saw Arian on countless occassions freakin "truck" the sh!t out of people. I remember stiff arms to the face when he hammered would be tacklers to the ground. Arian is an imposing man, and will do well (barring injury) for many Sunday's to come, anyone who thinks/hopes he doesnt get drafted should be permanantly exiled. That said, Ma'am I'm a polite southern boy who played a little ball myself, and I'm telling you be proud of your son, shout how great he is, but honestly he could use some four leafed clovers in tough situations. What people forget is without him we might not be in the games where he made his mistakes (not schedule but score). I think now it is time for us to thanks for all he and his family gave, and time for you to begin to monitor a new website/board. You've done your work well for your son and the Vol-Nation, we all in the end truely appreciate you both.

If you were my mother, i would tell you stay off the message boards. You are an absolute embarassment.
It is not a surprise that he denies he has a fumbling problem.

If she was your mother she would be trying to figure out why she went through the whole 9 months. Maybe you should read the thread instead of spouting off and showing your intelligence.

You are way out of line sir!

I am ashamed at how many of our so called "Big Orange" supporters bash our players as if they are an expert on anything. Yes, A.F. fumbled a few times that happened to be bad timing but that kid was always fighting for more yards, making yards out of nothing, and he carried himself with dignity and respect. To A.F.'s mother, I aplogize that you sent your son to a school that has so many "Fair Weather" fans. This is something I hope will change, but I am sorry you have to read this crap from these people. Your son could have gone anywhere he wanted to go, but I'm glad he came to U.T. He is a shining example of what a young athlete should be and how he should act. He never made excuses when he made mistakes but honestly he played his heart out. I'm proud of what he did here at the University of Tennessee and I'm glad parents feel comfortable enough trusting their kids to come to this beautiful place we call home. Momma Foster, I hope your son continues to be the man he has shown all of us that love him to be. He is blessed to have a mom that is willing to defend him and sometimes take some heat for it. Don't listen to these guys that have more than likely never seen the playing field and if they did, it was when they were running out to retrieve the balls during warmups. Nuff said

If you look at how many carries Arian had vs. how many times he fumbled, it isn't anymore than any other featured back in the college ranks. Some say "Yeah, but he fumbled at inopportune times." And I ask you, when is a good time to fumble?

it won't make a difference to say that the back many have anointed for next season would have a higher fumble/carry ratio that AF.

Perhaps Archie should defend his son to all the board haters for his losses to Florida.

Let the man learn from his mistakes and accept criticism. Instead good ole mommy coming to the rescue because his feelings were hurt.

This internet stuff hasn't really been around that long, so a lot of UT players never had to bear up to this business... But wow, what an amazing and almost unheard of lightning rod for scrutiny Arian has been in his career...

You are a spoon sir. Trying to stir something up because you have nothing better to do. Why do we give you any of our time? Shouldn't you be in a South Carolina board anyway?

My argument is not the effort of AF. He has had some decent games. He does have a fumbling problem. That is a fact.

Fostermom is looking foolish for herself and son. I sure the hell would not want my mom defending me on a message board. It only adds embarrassment and hostility to the player.

I agree but he himself helped hang that lightning rod, and I'm not talking about fumbles or game play.

Some people do venture out to work after college. You are probably living with mama in your single wide in Oliver Springs? You could not afford Charleston.

it's not a fact until you can prove that he fumbled more times than most backs in a similar position. You stating it definitely doesn't make it so. You're being low class and very ignorant in this discussion.

Those who fumbled more than foster should not be playing the game. Injuries of Riggs and Hardesty and the dismissal Coker during his career is the reason he had meaningful carries. Otherwise he would be a third down back.

Obviously, by attacking me and making an assumption about my way of life or my ability to "Afford" something only strengthens my point which is that you sir are a spoon. You resort to mama jokes? If you didn't know by now...Mama jokes are out of date... kind of like your toothbrush. Having money or not having money isn't the issue here anyway. I think you have "Zero class" which has nothing to do with your bank account. Stop stirring Mr. Low Country Spoon
