What in the hell was he thinking? I mean I think we have a good shot at a win regardless at that point but boy was that stupid.

Great win. Beating OBC is one of the best feelings ever.

Also, just got into breaking bad recently (in season 4 so no spoilers) but can someone Photoshop Spurrier and Clowney with a Los Pollos Hermanos logo or scene?

One of the radio guys (I forget which) suggested he might have been hoping for a specific defensive look from Tennessee. Other than that, I have no idea.

One of the strangest coaching decisions I have seen in a long time. Surprised to see it from CSS. Out smarted himself.

On his post game- he said he was actually going for it and both times they threw a different defense at him and he didn't have the right play in.

I think that was what he was trying to do.

This really isn't anything new for him. He has gotten to cute for his own good more than a few times over the years.

Glad he did. I'm also glad that I'm something that the ole ball coach wishes he could be & that's a Vol 4 Life. He's still butthurt after all these years that UT didn't give him a look.

Put him as the guy in the wheel chair or Saul
The ole ball sac just got out coached by The New Sheriff. Spurrier was trying to steal a first down. It would have given them the ball with about 30-45 seconds IMO.

Spurrier burned more timeouts than Arn Anderson.

Old raslin' fans will get this. Everyone else is probably too young.

The first one I thought was pretty smart since we were out of timeouts. If he'd caught us by surprise with like half defense and half punt team on the field it would have been an easy first down. The second one made no sense.

If Dooley were coaching we would have had about 17 players on the field and they would have gotten a first down.

He was. He tried to get us with punt personnel on the field. Butch gave him a stiffarm to the face.

This is what I was thinking also. I initially thought he would try to draw Tenn offsides, but they never even did a hard count, so I came to the conclusion that he would go for it IF he liked the match-up he saw.

You are all correct, he threw something at Butch to see how he responded. I was worried because some coaches would have panicked, and Volswin98 you are correct...there is no way Butch could have known he was going to do it twice, but to his credit he showed him something different each time. When they showed him on the sideline, he was steely-eyed...something we haven't seen on the Vol's sideline in many a year.

This is an exciting time to be a Vol!

This right here.

He then did it again, thinking Butch wouldn't think he'd do it a 2nd time. He played the game of Chicken with Butch didn't blink.

Win.

Don't mean to correct but UT was running a single wing and he was a passing QB in HS. Just from what I have gathered.
