His thoughts on Nick Saban and what he’s done at Alabama.

“He’s got a nice little gig going, a little bit like (John) Calipari. He tells guys, ‘Hey, three years from now, you’re going to be a first-round pick and go.’ If he wants to be the greatest coach or one of the greatest coaches in college football, to me, he has to go somewhere besides Alabama and win, because they’ve always won there at Alabama.”

Quoted on NBC Sports Talk talking about Saban and Richt

On Saban:

““He’s got a nice little gig going, a little bit like Calipari. He tells guys, ‘Hey, three years from now, you’re going to be a first-round pick and go.’ If he wants to be the greatest coach or one of the greatest coaches in college football, to me, he has to go somewhere besides Alabama and win, because they’ve always won there at Alabama.”*

On Richt and moving the Georgia game on the schedule:

“I don’t know. I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended.”

Surprisingly did not take a shot at the Vols, Fulmer or former Dawgs coach Ray "Goof"

I thought his comments about the Dawgs was even better. When asked about the UGA-USC game being moved to later on in the season from its normal slot the second weekend:

“I don’t know. I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended.”

Spurrier gold right there.

that comment about Ga is hilarious. He doesn't care if he's had guys in trouble. It's just a true statement, with a little southern sarcastic jab at a foe.

He will never win a NC at sc.

And he made Florida what it his today.

Go look at Florida's track record before Spurrier and after Spurrier.

The man is one of the ten greatest CFB coaches of all time. Six SEC championships in twelve years? Not in my lifetime will it happen again.

He's dead wrong about Saban. Look how he turned around LSU before Bama.

He was wrong. LSU was a ****hole before he got there, and led Michigan State to their first nine win season in fifty years.
