Spurrier takes a shot at Vols

posting in a public invites agreement, disagreement, and at times an ass flaming. It's not for the thin skinned and some folks take pleasure in just being mean. :air_kiss:

Let the old man have his fun. He is just about finished and this game needs characters like him. One of the few coaches willing to say anything without a filter.

"Yeah, Tennessee beat SC East 45-42 last year, but ya know, Steve’s not wrong. Tennessee isn’t what they once were. Since 2008, the program has seen 4 head coaches. Fulmer. The Kiff. Dooley. And now Butch Jones. They’ve only qualified for a bowl 3 times, and they’ve won just 5 games in 4 of those seasons. When I said Spurrier was raining on their parade, I meant it. Vol fans celebrated their taxslayer.com Bowl win like it was a Super Bowl win. Could you imagine if they won a more prestigious bowl? Like the Belk Bowl."

:furious3: :neener2::neener2: Ok, I get it, some of us may have celebrated like we won a Super Bowl. That's what fans do!! Note to spurrier - who won the last 2 meetings? :post-4-1090547912:

Well I guess Ol' Ball coach finally got enough time to figured out what he wanted to say. Not too talkative that Saturday was he? :eek:lol:

Just like Spurrier, Rome is looking to get a rise out of Tennessee fans and knows how to do it. Take away his games vs Dooley and Spurrier's record vs Tenn while at SC is just 2-5. He could beat Dooley with South Carolina but that's about all you can say...

Hurricane Steve Is Headed Back To Knoxville

I just checked the forecast, and apparently, they’re calling for rain in Knoxville, Tennessee all day today. According to weather reports a class-5, hurricane is coming up the east coast from South Carolina. They’re calling the storm Hurricane Steve and it’s already begun raining on the parade of Tennessee Volunteers football.

Like a drunk in a run-down bar, South Carolina’s head ball coach Stephen Orr Spurrier is always looking to take a cheap shot. The Ole Ball Coach runs his mouth more than he ran Marcus Lattimore a few years ago.

Now that Clemson finally got that monkey, or should I say Gamecock, off their back last season, the OBC decided to give Dabo Sweeny a break and find a new target to prey on. So he’s going old school and taking shots at his former rival from his days at Florida… Tennessee.

USC East just wrapped their worst season since 2009, going just 7-6. After recording an 11-2 record in each of their previous 3 years, Spurrier told reporters he thought 2014 was only a “decent year.” But then he made Rocky Top’s Smokey Mountains even smokier by spitting straight fire. The OBC added, “In Knoxville, they’re still doing cartwheels because they went 7-6 and won a bowl game.”

Gamecock. Set. Match. Even Ndamukong Suh can’t believe Spurrier would stomp a guy like that when he was down.

Just be sure to pack an umbrella this weekend Knoxville. Because this rain is planning to remain in the area and keep things damp until at least November 7th when Hurricane Steve takes a trip to Neyland Stadium.

Steve Spurrier: 69 years old, on the verge of retirement, 0-2 against Butch Jones, not returning much talent in 2015 and will struggle on the recruiting trail due to his age and rumors of impending retirement.

Butch Jones: 47 years old, hasn't come close to peaking as a head coach, 2-0 against Spurrier, has a team poised to win the East that will be even better the year after (2016), and is quite possibly the best recruiter in the country given the circumstances at Tennessee.

Spurrier is a hell of a coach, but his time is almost up. I have a feeling he will regret talking smack about Tennessee again, seeing as how Butch is apparently the anti-Richt/Fulmer in that he pulls wins out of his ass against him no matter what.

Jim Rome is the ultimate pot stirrer, and it's pretty pathetic. Apparently he's the only one that doesn't see what's building in Knoxville.

I think JRome jumping on this story is classic. I'm sure when it came across the wire or whatever they call it nowadays, he's like: "This is Gold." Truth is, it is funny as hell. I think SOS is still the bauce. I sure didn't take it like he had something on us. I know we celebrated a 7-6 season. But, we celebrated because it is vindication on the plan. The future. Everything that pundits like JRome take a second to see on the surface and jump on it like they've got the scoop of the year. Unfortunately, this was a funny gesture. No Tennessee fan should even blink at it. We all know Butch is 2-0 versus OBC. So, we can smirk and laugh about it knowing that we know a hell of a lot more than Jrome does on this. So, let him look like an idiot. I think the jokes on him. But, don't tell him.

People still listen to what Jim Rome has to say? Where is this dude covering sports at nowadays? The guy is and always will be a joke. As for the OBC, I think he is just getting his last jabs in now because when he is retired he will be sitting on his couch watching the Butch Jones led Vols winning championships.

People like Jim Rome and Spurrier have to say dumb things to just stay in the news now a days. Or people will forget them. I never thought I would say this but Paul Finebaum is better than Jim Rome.:popcorn:

You can express your thanks to the OBC anonymously with a gift from d**ksbymail, com (replace the asterisks) Gummies are appropriate for someone his age.

It's $15 plus s&h
