"Coach Graham did an excellent job here for the past three years," said Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier. "He told me that coaching at his alma mater is something he wanted to do. He's a very good coach and an outstanding person. We wish him the best in his coaching career."

It is classy. That's really the only thing he can say.

Honestly,

How much longer does he last at South Carolina? I swear he is going to have heart attack trying to run that offense.

:)Being from here in SC Im sooooo happy to see Jay coming home to UT and USCjr lose someone that without a doubt helped their running game progress over the last few years.. An added benefit would be beating Carolina this coming year.. Tired of hearing all these yard bird bandwagon fans..

Wait!!! Spurrier didn't have a smart a** comment? I'm surprised.

yeah but if you read it in Spurrier-speak you can still enjoy it

(read quickly) He's a very good coach(voice goes up)................ and an outstanding person (goes back down). (again, read quickly) We wish him the best in his coaching career (now looks up for next question)

I don't know why anybody over the age of about 60 does it.

Love of the game.. Doesn't matter what the vocation, if you keep doing it beyond a time when most others would quit, it is because you truly love what you do. I love flying airplanes for a living, (but I hate the industry).. I'll be here until I am forced to leave. That's why he does it.

either that or he really doesn't think these things and he's glad he is gone? Maybe he really thinks that UT is dumb for doing this? I never can imagine him being classy about anything. He is an arrogant smart ass.

Your last comment was spot on, but I think he's just been told by higher ups to stfu.

Do you see his face on the sideline during the games. :realmad:

He has a weird way of showing his love for the game. ( Throwing of visor/clipboard/headphones)

Coachspeak...What he really meant was "Jay did a good job here the last 3 years, that treacherous punk. He told me that coaching at his alma mater is something he wanted to do, still can't spell Citrus without UT. He's a very good coach, hope Marcus doesn't transfer or leave early. Wish him the best in his coaching career, hope to heck they stay down a couple more years so I gotta shot."

I was honestly expecting this number:

"I've never had a member of my coaching staff abandon a perfectly good ship to jump on a sinking one." And then that annoying false smile he puts on.

That's just heat of the moment stuff. He is very intense when he is on the sidelines. One has nothing to do with the other. If it did, he would be playing golf 5 times/week rather than recruiting, coaching, designing plays, dealing with irate alumni because he didn't beat XXX.. all the other BS that goes along with it.

What you said. I can't stand that man and cringe any time someone mentions his name as being UT's coach.
