Spurrier questions Alabama kick tactics

Oh man, after reading that Saban is just unaware of what his team is doing...its not his fault.."honestly"...right...

and he does not know how to text or chat on a computer..(he said that last week)...why doubt him....

Bama Cheets again but they did not mean to.....blahh blahh blahhh... :shaking2:

Your not being called cheaters because of this, it's the many other infractions that makes you cheaters.

Actually y'all are calling us cheaters for this. I think 3 times on the first page alone. Wrong. Yes. Cheaters. No more so than any other penalty you can call in a game.

I'm not defending the action but I'm defending the idea of us being called cheaters for doing this.

This little mishap is not why you're being called cheaters, I would explain why but it would take up way too much space.....let's let the NCAA, in their very explicit language from last week, say it the best..........

The NCAA Committee on Infractions called the University of Alabama a "serial repeat violator" with an "abysmal infractions track record" and an "extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA,"

Gee wiz, you mean it's not legal? Thanks for solving that mystery. Since you have the rule book open, is it legal to grab someone's jersey and hold them so they can't get to the QB? I've been thinking that would be a good way to cut down on sacks.

None of us need additional proof that Bammers are morons, but Bammers just can't help but prove this fact over and over again. This was YOUR post.

You're such crybabies. Do you think a kicker would be doing something as blatant and putting a piece of tape down on the field if he thought it was against the rules? I honestly can't think of how it would be an advantage anyway. The "sitting on top of the grass" is a ridiculous argument. He's using it as a marker, obviously, but I'm pretty sure he knows where the ball goes anyway.

The rule clearly states that using a marker is illegal. I know that cheating is a way of life for Bammers and it comes as naturally to them as breathing. Nevertheless, it IS CHEATING, and the hilarious thing is that you and your fellow Bammers repeatedly try to argue that black is really white. Bammer cheated. We know it. You know it. It's not like it wasn't expected. You're Bammer. It's what you do.

Saban is just like the rest of these Bammers in this thread. His defense is that everyone else does it, or atleast half, so that makes it ok.

What in the world would give someone the nerve to accuse Bamer of cheating... Doesn't anyone look at the longterm integrity of an organization before jumping to such great conclusions?! It isn't like they have cheated before or anything?! And we all know their coach has more integrity than you could shake a stick at! Atleast that's what I was told from some Miami Dolphins fans...:wink2:

Teague your just feeding their insecurity is all you are doing. Who cares if the team did something during the game that was an illegal procedure. If the refs don't call it it doesn't matter. You can copy and paste the rules all you want but it is a game violation only so nothing can be done about it now. The only penalty for it is a 5 yard penalty that can not be placed against the team now.

This is UT fans preparing an excuse to why they might loose. The need to feel better about their program and nothing more by them. These fans would compare a shoplifter to a serial killer if they played at UA.

The sad part as a fan is that I actually hope that UT and Kiffin can bring back your program. I would like to see every 3rd Saturday a matchup between the top 2 schools in the country. The difference is I love the sport and the SEC. I do not get down because of an off year or trouble within the program and then find solice in someone elses problems. I guess if it makes you feel better have at it. It won't change the outcome of the game. So good luck to UT this weekend.

It's different because it is premeditated. They came into the game planning on breaking the rules and trying to get away with it. It is not a huge deal really, but the same as a spit ball or sand paper in the glove. It is trying to get a competitive advantage. The cheating calls are because of what your program is known for.

Damn, man, let me try to make this as easy as possible for you - nowhere in that post did I say it wasn't against the rules. I'd add more, but I'm afraid you'll get confused.

all of yall are morons...regardless who started it, you idiots brought it up when really its not going to make the least bit of difference when the Mighty Vols leave bryant denny "taped" up!
Roll Tide

p.s. thanks spurrier for saving us a penalty

Why wouldn't bama's kicker and special teams coach know a basic rule like this and if they did, why did they deliberately violate it??? Is that "cheating" the rules???

There are a lot of rules violations that aren't called during games. I'm not just talking about the common stuff holding, offsides etc. There is a written NCAA rule that says your knee pads must be at least 1" thick and cover your entire knee. The penalty for violating the knee pad rule is 5 yards. Players, skill players in particular, do not use full pads because it slows them down. There are several other rules reguarding shoes and other equipment that are broken every game. If you think that Tiffin really gained an unfair advantage by using tape, go to a football field, kick one ball off of the grass and one off of a piece of tape and see what kind of advantage you get.

If there is no advantage, then why do it?

Look what board you're on and look what you're doing. What do you expect on a rivals board?

Better yet, why do you care?

You're a sad little boy.

help the holder and the kicker, when why the hell do you think your coaches have opted to use it!!!

If there is no advantage, then why do it?

Who knows, habit maybe. How long has he been doing it? I don't know do you? I'm sure this wasn't something that he did just for the SC game. Did he mark the ball spot or the plant foot spot? Was it tape? Was it gum? Did CSS even see anything at all? Has anyone on here seen the vid?

I don't know.

I guess I'm accustomed to conversing with a different level of person than I'm finding here.

Now one of you dimwits will post the obligatory, "yeah, bammers are dummer" reply....... and yes, I know how to spell "dumb".

I know.

No one is forcing you to be here.

To be fair, isn't it kind of dumb to criticize and question why you're talking to a certain group of individuals when you're doing it voluntarily?

:good!:
