Spurrier on Manning

I love Spurrier. I hated losing to him, but that guy is classic, and it will be a sad day when he's not around to make me chuckle.

He's like many of my relatives -- so full of BS that he and everybody else knows it, so it's just comical.

"I think Butch Jones is going to call him up & ask him to work with his QBs. Well, he should I don't know he will"

"Everyone in the South knows he should have won the Heisman Trophy"

Spurrier being Spurrier. Takes a jab at Butch and then rubbs it in about the Heisman. I thought he quit to end the beating Butch was putting on him. That's right he did. Go play golf and leave the coaching to ones that can handle the pressure.

So you don't think it's possible that Peyton realized one's college years are the best of their life and he wanted to have the complete college experience? Not to mention he was lucky enough to be in a position where didn't need the millions of dollars the NFL offers right now! Since we're offering opinions I think the hypesman trophy was one of his last of the reasons to come back for his senior year.

I think the most important reason Manning returned for his senior year was to get more training and experience. He wanted to be successful when he entered the NFL and knew how very hard that would be.

From listening to him, I think he came back for a number of reasons, chief among them being his love of his college experience at Tennessee. He surely wanted the opportunity to win an SEC title and get better as a player...but it sure seems that he just wasn't ready to not be a student and the QB at the University of Tennessee.

Damn, dude. He's taken some cheap shots at us over the years..but the dudes like a million years old and had one of the most successful careers, both as a player and a coach in the history of college football. Pressure? Sounds like Steve just drank you under the table and stole your ol' lady..

Everyone in the south? Meaning the only people who thought he should have won are SEC fans? Everyone else in the country knew better?

Pretty sure he meant everybody (in the south) that knew SEC football and watched it week in and week out, knew that Peyton was the best player in the country.

Have you seen the Travelocity commercial where they are downing Ga? It's a bad commercial but funny how they trash Athens.
I'm not in the SE so all the commercials I see are from sleezy used car and furniture dealers in deleware county...

I actually was thinking he was commenting on the virtues of free market capitalism and its impact on non-inherited wealth accumulation during the industrial revolution and how it gave birth to trickle down wealth distribution from corporate entities to individuals across the class spectrum.

But that's just me.

damn, fade.... dropping the knowledge!

Eddie Vol Halen said:
Actually, it was far, far from free market capitalism. In fact, it was much more on the model of China today - authoritarian capitalism. In addition, it required the "Tragedy of the Commons" first which is, in effect, inherited wealth accumulation. In fact, in our own historic time we've seen that authoritarian institutions go hand-and-hand with capitalism destroying the Friedman and von Hayek myths.

But everybody knows Peyton should have won the Heisman

eddie too! that was great lol

Sometimes as long as you haven't dealt with the sleezy ones the commercials can be comical. Once they have sleezed you, not so funny.

Fade I'm not a huge Spurrier fan. But I thinkg that's a R E A C H.

Spurrier is a bitter old man. I wouldn't put anything past him.

I think with him as OC, we could win some games.

Where the devil? Let's make a deal!

Nah, it would be too bitter sweet to win it all with help from Spurrier or even Saban(he may really be the devil).

Let the Florida fans support Spurrier.

That's not my cup of tea.

Jump higher Vols.
