South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier needs a quarterback to run his famous Fun 'n' Gun offense. But he didn't find one in his first spring with the Gamecocks.

Spurrier said this week that he has not yet settled on a starting quarterback for next season, noting that the competition for the job is "wide-open" -- unlike his offense at the moment.

"If we had to play right now, we certainly wouldn't be a wide-open offense," said Spurrier, who left Florida three years ago to make an unsuccessful stint as the Washington Redskins coach.

"We'd love to inherit an all-conference quarterback and plug him into our system, but that didn't happen."

It's going to be fun this year watching a steve spurrier team that dosent have the ability to line up 4 wide recievers with track star speed and throw it deep every single time. I think that spurrier will still try to do it though and jack up SC just like he did he Redskins. I honsetly believe that SC will have a awful year. They will be lucky to beat Vanderbilt.
