Spurrier: No Interest In TN Job- Official source

Yeah, with the Dolphins still playing their season, he is going to tell the media he is looking at other jobs? Knowing Saban, he probably was not all that interested in the Bama job while he had games left to play with the Dolphins. When the season ended, he took the job. The media and some stupid fans who have nothing else to cry about want to make such a big deal about nothing. Have you heard Saban's comments on Fulmer, BTW? He is nothing but a class act. He did not tell us what was on his mind out of respect for his team and his organization. Give me a break, sour grapes.

Ok I am a Dolphins fan, so I this chaps me more than most. All I read was a bunch of garbage that you wrote. Remember the famous words " I will NOT be the next coach of the university of Alabama" amongst many others. I was simply saying the man made a bold lie. Read this for all his garbage quotes. Steve Spurrier on Monday night said: “I don’t know whether to feel sorry for coach or congratulate him on the biggest buyout in the history of college football. He got the best deal ever, I think.”

That's a priceless quote and so true. HCF is a multi-millioinaire and feels sorry for himself. Maybe he woke up today and realized Spurrier nailed the situation. If not, he will soon.

I don't want Spurrier, and I don't think UT goesa after him. He's is past his prime just as Fulmer. But, that doesn't sound like a definate no consideration answer. If he would have consdiered it 5 years ago, then I would be willing to bet that he would consider it now if negotiations worked out for him.

From the article you cited:

It is what it is," Huizenga said, borrowing Saban's pet phrase. "I'm not upset, because it's more involved than what you think."

Instead, Huizenga hinted that family issues for Saban and his wife, Terry, were a factor. The Sabans, both natives of West Virginia, have a son in college and a daughter in high school.

"I've been through this with Nick for quite some time now, and I feel the pain and so forth and so on of Nick and Terry, and it's not a very simple thing," Huizenga said. "I think Nick's great. I'll be Nick's biggest fan. I'll be cheering for him to win that bowl game."

Sounds like you have more sour grapes than the owner of the Dolphins. Typical looney tune fan you are. When I was interviewing for my present job and even accepetd the job, I did not tell anyone at my old job until I thought the time was right and fair. I took care of what I had to do at the old job and let them know in plenty advance that I acceped a job at another company. If anyone would have ask me, ecspecially the damn media, I would have blown it off, because frankly, it is no one's business. It was nobody's business if he was considering the Bama job. Do you feel entitled to know Nick Saban's business. If you do, then you need to get a life. He let the Dolphins know he was leaving at the very end of the season, plenty of time before the following year.

You obviously do not know much about Nick Saban (or business as far as that goes), but the media is Nick Saban's bitch. He deals with them only because he has to. I do not blame him a bit for his actions with the media. Too bad he left the Dolphins, I am sure glad he is at Bama.

I say we go get Saban away from the bammers....bet he would love the chance to bring UT to the top again...:p

Spurrier would be ok too...$$$ talks, and I think we could have either of those if the right amount was offered.

on second thought, never mind...I would rather have Gruden, Cowher, or Davis. :dance2:

I can safely say that Nick Saban is not coming to the University of Tennessee. Spend your energy trying to find someone as good or better.

Who s*** in your cheerios man? You are hypocritical...you say I dont know Saban, well how do you know Huizenga? He obvioulsy could have been putting on a front much like Saban using your logic. Point is, I dont know Saban, you dont know Saban. I dont know the Dolphins staff, coaches, etc. There is so much that goes on in any sports staffing behind closed doors. That goes for UT also. Before you start name calling, look at yourself. People like you make people like me hate Alabama football. Always think everything is right and fair in your eyes. Once again I was just making a simple point that he lied publically over and over, and your are throwing a s*** storm at me. Nothing more, nothing less.

Spurrier should have never left UF.

true, but he had good reason to leave. the AD and he werent agreeing on anything and the fan base too had gotten to the point where, since they expected so much success, anything less than a NC was a failure to them. When we beat them in 01, the fans and students gave him a lot of crap about that and that season being a failure in their eyes, etc

I wouldn't want Nick Satan at UT anyway! What we need is someone capable of making a long term committment and someone you can believe when he opens his mouth and Satan does not fit that bill. He is open to the highest bidder just like a high class hooker. The Bammers will find out soon enough.

I think he's trying to make it look like he's more important than he really is.... does anyone truly believe he was even on Hamilton's long list of coaches?

Well my education taught me not to argue on another teams message board. Please keep calling me names so you will get banned.

Just because Spurrier and Cutcliffe said they were not interested does not mean anyone approached them so that they could "turn us down". I would think that neither of these guys were on the long list much less the short one.
