Puts these rumors to rest for good.

Concerning the news that Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer will step down at the end of the season, Steve Spurrier on Monday night said: “I don’t know whether to feel sorry for coach or congratulate him on the biggest buyout in the history of college football. He got the best deal ever, I think.”

Spurrier also shot down any possibility that he would be interested in returning to his home state to coach the Volunteers.

“Maybe five years ago I would’ve. But it wasn’t open five years ago,” Spurrier said. “I’m at my last gig right here. And we’ve got a pretty good team if we can get a little offense going.”

He lies! He'd pay Tennessee to coach here. I don't believe him for a second. He knows they aren't going to offer his old crusty butt the job! Plus,he looked at the quarterbacks we have and was like...:nono:

Spurrier is less than five years away from hanging it up too. Who would want him. He will never win the east again, setting behind florida and georgia. We'll be back fairly quick i think. Steve must like golf a lot.

Well mister 15K posts I'd like to think I've had a life the last four years. If I had posted 15,000 times I'd be divorced by now. ( Little tip for you guys who want happy wives )

But this year has been too much to pass up so....I post.

I'll be gone before too long though and you guys can have at it.

It was at least nice of the old coach to acknowledge that Tennessee is a place he would have coached when he was closer to his prime. Coming from our former arch enemy at Florida that is a pretty nice compliment I think.

So the ol Ball Coach is still bitter, eh? Some things never change.
