Considering his back/back losses to Vandy and UT, and the fans booing at the Vandy game, if UT ever was to give serious consideration to hiring him, now may be prime time to talk. This coupled with our up/down season we are having.I know he's 62, but he is a young 62 and he can draw recruits.

I think Spurrier is growing more and more frustrated with the situation at USC. And, this week's game against Arkansas is enormous for that program...with a game against Florida in 2 weeks, a loss at Arkansas would likely mean an 0-4 stretch going into their final game of the year against Clemson.

A 7-5 finish is a very real possibility for the Gamecocks, in a year where UT, UGA, and Florida are all down. That's little to no measureable improvement after 3 full seasons in Columbia.

Leavitt at USF is an out of control, loose cannon on the sideline---he'd blow a gasket in his first big game in the SEC. UT needs a coach who has won in big conferences, not cupcakes like the Big East.

Amen brother! No Spurrier, please!

very valid point
:p
seriously though, i just don't think he has it anymore. i also don't think he has his kind of players on offense either, and that has as much or more to do with it.

but seriously, he's 62, he hasn't really done anything since coming back and he's lost 2 in a row to a guy that most of us think is a mental midget when it comes to football.

is that really an upgrade? at this point, i'm inclined to think there are more innovative, younger coaches out there that would better fit what we need/want to do as a program.
