Spurrier leaves presser

Consider this - when you're winning and you sit up there at the presser and make your smarmy little jokes and have all the reporters laughing - just keep in mind it's not gonna last forever. So when you lose a close one, you need to man up and talk to the press just like you did when you won. To not do so is just bad sportsmanship. And that's a word you don't hear much any more, especially when you are discussing the Ol' Ball Coach.

OBC never resisted a chance to give UT a verbal shot, so though I like him as much as any opposing coach, his finding out that karma is a b!tch, is fine with me.

Listen to Wards questions and answers about the defense. The guys asking questions gave him H$LL! The ole ball sack has run off at the mouth after winning and can't find words when he loses again...to BUTCH! $300.00 motel rooms....$150.00 for the tickets...setting thru a cold wind and watching this young UT team fight there A$$ off and beat the ole ball sack speechless....PRICELESS!!

Seeing the tears in CBJ eyes as he sings ROCKY TOP with us the fans who made the trip and the kids. I promise Mich has no chance to get him away from Knoxville. I have not seen that kind of emotion since the Fulmer years from a coach that loves UT! Butch is not going anywhere thats a FACT!

For HBC, his quote was actually Head Ball Coach, karma is a Butch!

Watched this a few times today and I love it. He hates losing to us more than anyone else

Im 37 years old...the majors years were me as little boy..asking questions to adults as to how the game was played and why. The fulmer years were my youth. When i came to love the vols because i loved to watch them play. Not because everyone i love wears orange.
Spurrier damn near ruined my youth. Seriously. He owned fulmer. Owned peyton. Owned the vols period and that bastard probably kept us from winning 2 championships in the 90s. I hated him sooooooo much. Hated his guts.
But i always respected him. Fulmer feared his teams. It showed. It would seem like i would enjoy seeing him dejected and spent in that press conference. Instead i actually felt sorry for him. Maybe its that ive come to know the Lord since he owned us. Maybe its because i am getting a little older now and realize in some ways i am not what i once was. Not sure. Feel sorry for that sharp tongued bastard though...and i woukd hate to see him go out a loser after this season. Though i hope CBJ owns him forever.

When Spurrier was younger and in his prime, he was all alpha male and cocky to the nth degree...he was a brilliant brat who had to have enjoyed rocking the boat. I was surprised to find out that he and Fulmer are close friends, because he was relentlessly brutal on him in the press and on the field. Age has actually been good on him...softened his edges but maintained his coaching mastery. I don't know if he's hungry or interested enough to get through this speedbump, but if he is he'll be a factor for a few more years at least.

Anyone else wonder BEFORE the season why everyone was crowning USCe with such certainty? They lost their starting QB, once of a lifetime talent in Clowney, Kelcy Quarles and other standouts...I could see where they had potential but nothing warranting all the hoopla.

He's one if the greats. We shall not look upon his like again.

It seems the old fart ran out of snarky anti-UT quips when the Fulmer era expired.
He knows now that Butch and UT own his ass.

I agree with this completely. He is glib when winning. Pouts at his post game after a loss.

He quit, just like his team quit....he can kiss my ass and I would love to tell him as much

I don't think they quit so much as their conditioning just sucks and Ward is just terrible.

Third time those guys have run out of gas short of the finish line this season.

Winning over Spurrier will never get old. I do respect Spurrier for his skill as a coach, but I've never considered his jabs as classy whether they were directed at UT or others. If the OBC coaches another 10 years, I hope he leaves every presser after the Tennessee game in under 60 seconds.
