Spurrier? Just a rumor!!!

I wouldn't want Spurrier here because he's an a-hole, even if he was still a good coach. I can remember all of his "jokes" and cheap shots. I wouldn't want him representing us.

He thought Fulmer was a joke. Just an act to get inside Fulmer's head. That said, I still don't want him.

he wont come here. he wants to turn a USCe into a USC, that's why he went there instead of a bigger, more football savy school

He's 63, how many more seasons do you think he can coach?
Absolutely, only an uniformed person would suggest hiring a coach that old. I'm not even in favor of hiring 57 year olds Butch Davis and Pete Carroll, not that we could get them anyway.

John Majors was 43 when he arrived at UT in 1976 and took him 8 years to win his first SEC championship and he was coming off winning a national c'ship and being national coach of the year.

bring on spurrier, the man can only bring good to ut with the talent there. of course it would take him or anyone else a couple years to repair fullmers new york city size landfill mess hes created.

No Cutcliff...No Spurrier....no more living in the past. Let's move forward.

I agree. Just saw a name mentioned that I had never seen before...Pete Carroll. Sounded ridiculous at first. The post added that:

1) USC is not spending the facility money that he wants.

2) He hates Nick Saban.

3) SEC is becoming the playground of the best coaches, and he might be interested in the competition.

Bill Cowher has never coached at the college level (or recruited there).

i like this idea. especially if his son comes along to take over once steve retires. s-car just doesn't have the support for athletics like UT does (bigger donors, better facilities etc.). there really isn't a college coach in a position to leave their program to replace the great pumpkin except for spurrier.

Are you really certain about bringing Saten in to our House, thats a lot to handle, Im not for Saten........NO

I believe that the answer to our programs problems these days are for us to get Jon Gruden to be our next coach asap!! This offense is horrible and we need to have a complete coaching change.

I don't see why Spurrier wouldn't come. He has pride but if he stays in South Carolina he will never even win a SEC championship...

...Tennessee has the talent to win an SEC championship, we just need a coach to utilize it.

I have hated Spurrier and always Loved the Vols, but maybe Spurrier would look good in Volunteer Orange?
