Spurrier, at 63, is 23-18 at usc with an 11-15 SEC record. He has only won one bowl game at usc. Fulmer has accomplished more since Spurrier was hired at usc.

Some of you want to trade Fulmer for one lousy Liberty bown win? His best season at usc was 8-5... The man has never had an undefeated season in his life. Nobody has gotton more mileage from a lone national championship. This stupid crap makes me want to cuss.

I don't think this would ever happen. But anyone that thinks the fan base would not embrace Spurrier is just wrong. He might not be able to right the ship, but I assure you the seats would be full for at least the first year or two.

Since it's just a rumor, Hell yeah! Bring in Spurrier for a few years, let him groom Clawson to take over, then UT is back on top for the next ten years. LOL
I don't know, I thought I would just play along.

If CPF had 6 SEC titles in the last 10 years (like SOS had in his yrs at UF) we wouldn't be having this discussion

So since he hasn't had an undefeated season then Fulmer is better?...and Fulmer has gotten MUCH more milage from an NC than Spurrier

PJ, I agree but I don't think I fully understand your post. You are comparing two different time periods. However, we do have an apples to apples comparison from 2005 (the years that most cite Fulmer losing his grip of the program). Over this period, Fulmer has performed better than Spurrier. If a change is coming, why downgrade?

What makes you say that Spurrier would be a downgrade?..he has brought USCe more success than any other coach in South Carolina history

count up championships. Love him or hate him (and I lean toward the hate side) he is head and shoulders above CPF. I personally watched too many UF games with him on the sideline to believe otherwise. He had more SEC titles in his first 5 years than CPF has total.

SC was a losing proposition for any coach and I never understood why he went

We may be the same age. I watched those games during the 90s as well. While I give Spurrier credit for making the conference better, his hire would be the ultimate fail IMO.

I don't want him at UT either but to pretend CPF is a better coach is ridiculous

Since he's been at sc he really hasnt had a top recuiting year. I figured recuits would love to play for him. Any reasons why not?

You have never been to the campus, well its like flying in to the Salt Lake City Airport, Nothing<Nada, Zilch just like South Bend, and Ann Arbor, there is nothing there , Would you go there, I wouldn't Athens is 10 times better, even Starkville is better, when these kids can go to USC,LSU,FLA, Miami, Fla State, BAMA, UT,GA TEXAS, Even A&M is better, but all of those other schools have pretty girls and are party schools.

Spurrier would be an improvement for the short term, but I do think we would need to get a new coach after a few years, simply because Spurrier is getting old.
