If it was my decision, I would offer Spurrier the job ahead of any who have been mentioned on this board. He would hold on to most of our recruiting commitments and add a few of his own. Most of all, he would make the most out of the players we have. He still has some good years left in him. People forget he is originally from Johnson City. Last chance to lure him home. If he would take the job, I can't think of a single reason we wouldn't want him. Can you?

As much as I hate to agree....your right. I remember when USCe was the bottom dwellers...now they compete every game, every year! I say bring him home....

If it was my decision, I would dig up Bear Bryant and offer him the job ahead of any who have been mentioned on this board. He would hold on to most of our recruiting commitments and add a few of his own. Most of all, he would make the most out of the players we have. He still has some good years left in him. People forget he used to coach at Union University in west Tennessee. Last chance to lure him home. If he would take the job, I can't think of a single reason we wouldn't want him. Can you?

Fixed to something more realistic.

Should have offered him the job after he left the NFL. Too late now.

You forget he took 5 yrs to make USCE relevant with better recruiting grounds and better talent than he would start with here overall - you think at 66 he would be here long enough or that the fan base would be patient enough - NO - plus he's happy where he is

Are you going to give him 5 years to show results like South Carolina did?

Hire him tomorrow, and we're competitive next year. Add several blue chip recruits he would surely lure to this year's and next years recruiting class, and we're contending for championships. Let's face it. Spurrier would have gotten more wins with the players we already have.
