I searched for this thread before posting but didn't see it. ESPN is reporting that Spurrier is the coach that didn't vote for Tebow as 1st Team all SEC.

If this is true, this should be interesting. Thank goodness it really wasn't CLK.

...And now Spurrier's claiming it was a mistake. Once it was apparent his vote was going to come out, he turns into a wuss.

Steve Spurrier didn't vote for Tim Tebow for preseason first-team All-SEC - ESPN

"However, SEC associate commissioner Charles Bloom confirmed to ESPN.com that Spurrier called Thursday night and asked that his ballot be changed to include Tebow as the first-team quarterback. Spurrier told Bloom that his initial ballot, with Snead as the first-team quarterback, was a mistake."

If they didn't feel like they could pick who they wanted, why were they voting to begin with? Why not just name Tebow and be done with it?

I thought it was him all along. Remember, he's the guy who votes for Duke in the top 25 at the beginning of every season.

If Spurrier doesn't feel the need to vote and just leaves it up to someone else to fill out his ballot maybe he should lose his right to vote.Maybe it's not a big deal to these coaches but I guarantee these players take pride in not only being named All-Conference but especially being named a unanimous selection.And now he claims it was a mistake, the mistake was not thinking he would get caught and everyone thinking it would be CLK who didn't vote for Tebow.Looks like Lane got you again Steve.

The ass-wipes on 680 in Atlanta have been giving Kiffin hell relentlessly about this. I doubt they apologize to him today. They were interviewing Saban yesterday and asked him about it. Saban took them to task saying a coach can vote for anyone they want to. They replied, "so you are saying it was Kiffin?" I thought I was losing it when Saban was defending Kiffin, but he did. Now the truth is out. Nice.

They should vote any way they want. Tim Tebow is not a God. Snead is not a bad pick, especially considering how he beat Florida last year.

The media will have a short memory when it comes to their words spoken in error. Let them be right (or close to it) and you hear about it for days.

I'm actually surprised that Spurrier is backtracking on the issue. I'll also be surprised if this isn't his last year at SC.

That wasn't aimed at you. I just mean it makes no sense why people care that Tebow didn't get unanimous votes. I just heard on SC that Spurrier actually changed his vote because of it too. All this "controversy" over this is ridiculous.

He didn't vote is the problem, he left it up to an office person to do it.If it's not worth his time then don't vote at all, you may not feel like it's a big deal but like I said in my previous post I guarantee these kids do.
