Spring Practice Updates Day 8

A little pet peeve of mine are the updates given by the reporters. Every off season, I feel like they tailor their reports to fit an agenda. For instance, when Kongbo showed up, the reporters were raving about him but in reality he's been average at best. Now, they are talking about how this staff is "coaching them up."

I do believe Pruitt and the rest are legitimately better teachers and developers than Jones and his goons, but I just feel like it's being forced in the updates. Don't take this as I don't believe Pruitt is actually coaching them up.

That is something that I've had to learn, and not just with football. Usually when someone gives a recount of an event, they'll have a frame or a filter if you will on how they saw it occur. The sooner you can identify what it is, the quicker you can understand what the truth more actually is. Nobody is wrong in the situation. We are all shaped by our experiences of the past.

Any mention of “he who shall not be named” means he owns you and occupies your every Vols thought. It’s just absurd that anyone even refer to that guy all these........weeks later.

It appears, when Kongbo showed up, they didn't see any coaching-them-up to report about, but I'm sure that's not the entire bit (I do recall reportings about such things as the $220k sports car the coach drove, and such -- I prefer to hear about how the coaches coach the recruits they get, rather than what type car the coach drives in order to attract the recruit they did or didn't get -- and if there's no fancy car driven / no, or less and fewer "fluff" as one local HS coach put it, maybe we'll hear more about coaching).

But seriously, just mentioning him "Bamas intern" or just referring to him "Lyle" is one thing, but just last week there were 4 threads on the main page with his name in the title.

Also, what's the difference in me joking around about this and you joking around about how people "hate" on Phil just because they disagree with your opinion?

No reason for anyone to get bent over either. IMO.

Hes #56. Hes got good size, but he’s clearly smaller than Tuttle, Emerson, and Johnson.

See any commonalities in the way other areas of our media handles things on a daily basis? It's how editors and others push a story these days and IMO it filters down to the way ordinary people express themselves. For example another tactic is be the first to claim victimhood. How many times do posters here at VN hit that "victim" button? You exchange on the regular with some who have and do. LOL
