ILB Henry To'o To'o had no elbow brace and only a light compression brace on his knee while working with first team today. Working at the front of the ILB group: Solon Page III and Aaron Beasley. J.J. Peterson was working with the back half of the position group.

WRs Cedric Tillman and Josh Palmer were limited participants in practice today.
Quarterback order today during 1-on-1 drills with WRs: 1. Jarrett Guarantano 2. J.T. Shrout 3. Brian Maurer 4. Harrison Bailey.
With Josh Palmer and Cedric Tillman limited today, the WRs were working in this order with the QBs during position drills: 1. Brandon Johnson 2. Ramel Keyton 3. Velus Jones

Quick takeaways after seeing the bulk of individual work: - Jordan Allen shifted to TE - DL Emmitt Gooden, DL Darrel Middleton & DB Baylen Buchanan practiced. - didn’t see Cooper Mays (in boot Saturday at hoops game)... 3 other early enrollee freshmen practiced.

Tennessee’s quarterback group opened indy practice periods focusing on footwork and fundamentals. They quickly joined the tailbacks and OL for burst/mesh-point drills. The ball hit the ground way too often for Jim Chaney’s liking, with the quarterbacks fumbling multiple times, including signee Jimmy Holiday twice. It was a quick period, but Eric Gray looked like the alpha in the tailback room. Having said that though, Ty Chandler has clearly added some muscle in his upper body and has a chance to have a big spring under new coach Jay Graham.
Notably, Jarrett Guarantano took the first rep every time. Guarantano misfired on his opening throw but was among the sharper quarterbacks during the six-minute period.

Brian Maurer, running No. 3 behind JG and JT Shrout, was running super hot, airmailing three straight at one point and drawing some criticism from Chris Weinke. Freshman Harrison Bailey, who is all of 6-5, 220, went fourth and was solid. Interestingly, walk-on Kasim Hill, now No. 11 ran fifth in the rep line, with Holiday, who is listed at 6-foot but looked right around Eric Gray’s height (5-10), went sixth.

Senior wideout Josh Palmer was clearly limited by an undisclosed injury
I did not see starting center Brandon Kennedy out there
Darnell Wright, who had a giant ankle brace and was moving awfully gingerly. I thought he looked a tad heavy, too.

Felton liked what he saw from guys like Kivon Bennett and walk-on Bryan Aiken (who’s a thick 6-4, 265-270) but he was very critical of Roman Harrison, John Mincey and Nyles Gaddy.
At inside linebacker, the Vols are clearly grooming Henry To’oto’o to be the leader of not only the unit — but the whole defense. He ran first every time and was vocal throughout the period.
Baylen Buchanan was participating in all drills while we were out there.

Freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey, one of the stars of the Vols' class, received plenty of attention in his first official practice at Tennessee and looked solid during routes-on-air drills, although the Vols' quarterbacks weren't particularly sharp overall in the rainy conditions.

Jimmy Holiday, Tennessee's other freshman quarterback, mishandled a couple of shotgun snaps during mesh-point drills with the Vols' running backs. Holiday struggled a bit with the rain and made a few shaky throws, and it's worth noting that Kasim Hill went before Holiday during individual drills. Fifth-year senior Jarrett Guarantano took the first snap in every drill, with Bailey mostly running fourth behind sophomores J.T. Shrout and Brian Maurer.

USC wide receiver transfer Velus Jones Jr. showed good speed in one-on-one drills against some of the Vols' cornerbacks, at one point blowing past junior cornerback Bryce Thompson, and was one of the first receivers to run through each individual drill. Fifth-year senior Brandon Johnson went first in each drill, followed by sophomore Ramel Keyton and Jones.

Nebraska wide receiver transfer Miles Jones looked a bit on the small side — he's officially listed at 5 feet 8 inches — but showed some quickness.
Fifth-year senior center Brandon Kennedy dressed out but appeared to be limited during the periods that were open to media.

So Shrout ahead of BM? Holliday and Hill non-factors?

Johnson ahead of Keyton and VJJ. Gibbs non-factor?

Forgive me if any of these guys are out for the Spring. Hard to keep up with.
